The Laws of Gormhan
All three intelligent species (Humans, Aignaoithe, and Naered) all posess power carriers in their blood. These cells distribute magical power, and their concentration determines how many abilities the individual has. Power carrier concentration is genetic.
Cosmology
Creationists (Shui, Aignaoi, and Crathlian) believe that the Creator crafted the world. Creation of the Three details this, while Gift of the Serpents and the First Shapeshifter tells the story of how the magic system supposedly came to be.
Principal Geography & Features
Gormhan is topped at the north by an ice-covered continent with an island chain off its coast called Inis Baile Mor, where the fire-breathing aignaoithe make their home.
The naered, whose bodies are made entirely of mist and power carriers, live near the humid, inland lakes of Shui Lu.
Initial Active Setting
An island chain: the Kingdom of Crathlia. This kingdom is where my narrator Cordelia was born and raised and where my novel is set. The rest of the world is built and developed as it relates to Crathlia.
