Current Iteration (pictured): 3rd
Mortal Name: ***
Race: Thalorim
Previous Iterations:
Huichi-2 - Anira, a Maia
Huichi - Huichi, celestial child of the Mother
Huichi governs the domains of Autumn and Fall, Harvest and Reaping, Decay and Rot, Crows and Omens, Change and Transition, Deceit and Illusion, Forgiveness and Redemption, Forgetting and Letting Go, Acceptance and Peace, Patience and Waiting, Preparation and Readiness, Foresight and Wisdom, Death and Transformation, Endings and Beginnings, Cycles of Life and Death, Meditation and Reflection, Melancholy and Solitude, Shedding the Old, Hidden Knowledge, Introspection and Contemplation, and The Passage of Time.
As the goddess of Autumn, Huichi is responsible for the natural processes of transformation that occur as the seasons shift from the warmth of summer to the cold of winter. Her powers lie in the ability to guide the world through necessary changes, allowing life to decay and return to the earth, preparing it for renewal.
Her deep connection to death and decay does not make her a malevolent figure; rather, she represents the necessary acceptance of life’s cycles, the shedding of what is no longer needed, and the preparation for what is to come. Snakes, a symbol of transformation and rebirth, are closely associated with her divine persona.
The current iteration of Huichi, Huichi-3, carries the additional weight of her transformation into a Thalorim, a being who feeds on the life force of others to survive. She is currently missing, with Isoko presuming she was somehow murdered by Zun-2 or Zun-3 in a jealous rage.
Mental characteristics
“I notice that Autumn is more the season of the soul than of nature.” -- Friedrich Nietzsche
Huichi is the second-created of the celestial Stewards, though she refused to awaken until Isoko did, forging a close and deep bond with her sister that has lasted through the ages. She is the goddess of autumn, representing change, decay, contemplation, and preparation for the inevitable cycles of life and death. Unlike her lively and impulsive sister, Isoko, Huichi is somber, quiet, and introverted. She is known for her deep introspection and affinity for the natural cycles of life, particularly the decay and transformation that occur in the autumn months.
Huichi has always been fascinated by the cyclical nature of things—particularly how death and decay serve as precursors to new life. Her introspective and contemplative nature often led her to quiet places of solitude, where she would meditate on the natural world and the processes of change that govern it. She is often depicted with snakes, a symbol of transformation, shedding old skin to emerge renewed. Despite her quiet demeanor, Huichi has an immense strength of will and an unwavering dedication to the balance of life and death.
After the Prime were discovered, Huichi, inspired and encouraged by Isoko, advocated for their guidance rather than their destruction, though she was wary of their potential for harm, and decided to follow a similar path as her sister. Despite the corruption introduced by the Harbingers, Huichi believed in the necessity of death and decay in the cycle of life, and she saw the Prime and their descendants as part of that cycle, albeit with dangerous tendencies.
She thus transformed a group of Prime and created the Nakhasi, a race deeply connected to the cycles of life and death, embodying many of the philosophical principles that govern her domain. Drawing upon her reverence for transformation, Huichi imbued the Nakhasi with traits that reflected some of her favored creatures—serpents and felines—granting them agility, intellect, and a contemplative nature.
The Nakhasi, much like their creator, have a deep understanding of the balance between life and death, and this is reflected in their society’s emphasis on intellectualism, emotional discipline, and personal advancement. Over time, the Nakhasi would establish one of the earliest and most influential empires in Alathor, known for its philosophical advancements and impressive feats of engineering, long since fallen but whose influence still echoes into the modern day.
Afterward, together with Isoko, Huichi helped create the Pukta, a race that embodied her fascination with transformation and balance.
Huichi-2, who would reveal the conflict of blending god-like power with mortal beings, when she became romantically involved with Syla, a Nakhasi woman, using her godly power to give the previously infertile mortal woman children: Mok Tun, Bulan, Eris, and the Twins, Elpis and Moros. The family dynamic became complicated when Syla's mortal husband, Mok Kar, believed the children to be his own and groomed and used Mok Tun to begin consolidating power, with ambitions of using his daughters to further it.
Syla, unable to call upon Huichi at the time, sought the help of Isoko to take her daughters to safety from Mok Kar’s ambitions, and Isoko did so. Syla, still unable to contact Huichi, eventually confronted Mok Kar and revealed the truth to him. This led to a series of tragic events in which Syla was killed by Mok Kar in his jealousy and rage, and Mok Tun took vengeance on his father. These events led to the eventual rise of the Nakhasi Empire, led by Mok Tun, a demigod son of Huichi.
Huichi-2 had been unable to be reached due to being entwined in a dark chapter when Zun-2, once again attempting to win her over, revealed the existence of the Thalorim, remnants of the Prime who had been corrupted further by a Harbinger that had managed to remain hidden. Zun-2 wanted Huichi to join him in becoming one of the Thalorim, beings capable of draining the Giver’s life force from other living creatures to extend their own lives indefinitely. Horrified by Zun-2 and the measures and direction he appeared to be taking and desperate to answer the calls of Syla, Huichi-2 reluctantly agreed to transfer her stone to one of the Thalorim, only to later turn on Zun-2, attempting to drain him of his life force. Though she failed to kill him, Zun-2 was forced into hiding, and Huichi, now Huichi-3, became a Thalorim herself. Marked by her tragic transformation, and the tragedy of finding Syla murdered, she took Syla’s body and disappeared and has not been seen since.
