Sibrial Vorcien
Sibrial Vorcien is the eldest child of Stutd Vorcien, making him the heir to the Vorcien guild-family. He has eight younger full-blood siblings, including Capric Vorcien, and a half-sister Kissandra Vorcien, against whom he bears a significant grudge. He is the owner of the High Vorcien Club and regularly spends his time there playing cards. Even by his siblings, he is considered boorish, loud, and a bully.
STORY
When Kissandra Vorcien was a teenager, Sibrial Vorcien caught her sleeping with Baby Montego, so he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her away screaming, berating her for sleeping with a low-born provincial. Baby came to her defense and beat Sibrial, a humiliating defeat since Sibrial was already an adult with extensive boxing and fencing training while Baby was only a naked fourteen-year-old. Baby broke both of Sibrial's arms, shattered three ribs, and cracked four more. Kizzie then dragged Sibrial home, and they both lied about being jumped by a gang in the Slag. Kizzie and Sibrial kept this story a secret for years, but it forced Kizzie to never see Baby again out of shame. When Gorian asks Kizzie about her estrangement from Baby, she tells him this story, and Gorian remembers when the Vorcien sent the national guardsmen to track down the "twenty gang members" but never found them.
When Kizzie and Sibrial were older, Sibrial ran over a child with his carriage, breaking the kid's leg. When questioned about the incident, Kizzie did not lie to the magistrate, causing her brother public shame. For this and the prior incident with Baby, Sibrial holds a burning grudge against his half-sister.
When Kizzie visits the High Vorcien Club, Sibrial chases after her with his hammerglass-tipped cane. Seeing that he is drunk and unhinged, she tries to justify her presence, saying she came to the club to ask his concierge Veterixi Jorn if there was anything she could do to fix the bad blood between them. However, this only further enrages Sibrial, and he strikes her, threatening to kill her and to flay the Vorcien family sigil off her skin. Fearing for her life, Kizzie uses her weak sorcery to float a glass lock-picking bead next to his neck, intending to push it into an artery if he does catch her. As a last resort, she blurts out that Baby is back in Ossa from abroad, and she asks if Sibrial really wants her death in the newspaper with Ossa's most accomplished killer in town. Luckily, this forces Sibrial to come to himself, and he lets her escape.
When Demir Grappo goes to the High Vorcien Club to challenge Capric Vorcien to a duel, Sibrial tries to use his influence to intimidate Demir into leaving. However, Demir simply tells him to piss off, which greatly angers Sibrial, but Capric accepts the challenge and goes outside with his old friend. Later, when Father Vorcien offers Demir the marriage contract with Kizzie to settle the guild-family feud, Demir originally refuses on the grounds that he would never serve Sibrial if Father Vorcien died, calling the heir an ogre.
