Automatons

Automatons are sentient humanoid-shaped machines created by the artificers of the Eight States of Chronan for various purposes. Many of them were used in the war between the forces of chaos and order at the start of the Steaming Age. Nowadays they see use as workers, servants and companions.

Types of automatons include:

Autognomes, created by the gnomes of Magnapolis

Colossi, huge armored automatons guarding city gates, created in the image of the god Zaumaturge

Replicatons, formed from machines abandoned at the war that were corrupted by chaotic energies of the battlefield around Czenova.

The Warforged, supersoldiers of the sentient species that were enhanced with automaton parts to lead the machine armies in the war.

Clockwork Animals and other mechanical creatures are not considered automatons, even though some of them possess high intelligence. Golems are ancient constructs created from raw materials with magic, instead of technological prowess, and thus are not counted as automatons.
