The Warforged

During the War Between Order and Chaos, the Chronanese artificers with the lead of the Metropolite Deliverance Prometeo found a way to enhance people with clockwork bodyparts from Automatons to create supersoldiers that became known as Warforged. These enhancements were taken so far that there wasn't many organic parts left, rather just a soul living in a mechanical body. Metropolite Prometeo eventually became a Warforged herself, and she was referred to as "Mother" by her creations. Due to the enhancements, those Warforged that survived the war found out that they could live forever if they just kept changing their vital parts. This drove many into solitude and even madness. Very few actual Warforged have been created after the war, since people prefer the unquestioned services of Automatons instead, but an increasing amount of people have started to enhance themselves with Clockwork Prostheses in a similar fashion. It is rumored, though, that the secretive Prometech Institute, founded by the late Metropolite Prometeo, still continues to improve the design of the Warforged, in case Chronan would ever face another uprising that defied The Order.
