Ebþúkic1 is the language of the Ebþúkans of Balra, the western county () of Vakúlstó, the eastern quarter (stó) of the empire of Dalra. It's part of a small language family which today is restricted to the county, but once had speakers living as far as the city of En to the south.
Before the Dalrans, ebþúkic was used for trading and diplomacy among the numerous tribes between the eastern foothills of the Zamra Mountains and the coast of Úrtal Sea, though it has been supplanted to some extend along the coast by húlpakric, and is still used along with dalran throughout Balra and -to lesser extent- southeastern Tirkþa to the northeast.
This is partly because the language has very regular syntax (the word order is always SOV, for example) and morphology, making it relatively easy to learn.

Writing System

Like many languages in Dalra -including dalran-, ebþúkic is traditionally written using an alphabet derived from that used by the ancient Ilaxarans, and among certain tribes in eastern Balra also write it with húlpakric script. Though not the only such script to feature curved lines, the ebþúkic one is unusual for lacking the long, vertical line which otherwise form the basis of each letter in ilaxaran-derived alphabets.
