The Council of New Thostenburg
Each of the twelve levels has a seat on the council, forming the ruling body of New Thostenburg. The council works for the collective good of the whole and all levels are required to adhere to council decisions. However, most levels use looser interpretations of the rules than the council intended although residents work together peaceably when needed. The council manages resource distribution, utility systems, disputes between levels and emergency services.
Current Council Members:
Counselor Dusten Raddings - Eldest Raddings on Level 1, male Human age 51, Head of the Council and breaker of ties. (And knuckles, if necessary.)
Counselor Cameron Raddings - Young Head of Level 2, male, Human age 23, recently took over after an air cleaner issue on level 2 took out the previous councilor's family and closest neighbors.
Counselor Asten Butcher - Head of Water and Food Stuff, resides on Level 3, male Half-Orc age 31. Asten has Orc ansestry on his father's side.
Counselor Savera Qatar - Priestess of Holt, resides on Level 4, female Elf age unknown. (She remembers the exodus underground.)
Counselor Meridia Averis - Head of Entertainment and Festivities, resides on Level 5, female Halfling age 35. She trades in favors of all sorts.
Counselor Leth Rorry - Midlevel Manager, Level 6, male Goblin age 20, coordinates movements of personnel and supplies between the upper and lower levels. He can acquire anything for anyone.
Counselor Kell Frida - Head Peacekeeper, resides on Level 7, female Human age 40. Runs security and arbitrates disputes.
Counselor Wenda Laslo - Matchmaker and Educator, resides on Level 8, female Half-Elf age 80. Wenda has Elf ancestry on her mother's side.
Counselor Fyder Ember - Head of Agriculture, Level 9, male Halfling age 45. His ancestors developed strains of longer-lasting light-producing fungus and more plentiful variants of berry bushes.
Counselor Gordy Rounder - Workforce Management, Level 10, male Halfling age 30. The Rounder clan is plentiful and there is a joke about Gordy supplying the workforce singlehandedly through breeding. He and his three wives do not find this funny.
Counselor Veda Bernard - Interracial Relations Specialist, Level 11, female Human age 70. Markus Maxus is her son, who changed his name upon reaching adulthood.
Counselor Markus Maxus - Level 12, male Half-Orc age 54, controls heating and air quality. Markus has Orc ansestry on his father's side.
