Constrictor Tank
The constrictor tank is a segmented landship designed to destroy siege engines. The unique design allows pilots to wrap the tank around large objects and apply pressure until the target snaps, and the heavy plate exterior prevents damage from "the snapback". The tanks have also been used defensively, allowing the Legion to establish walls and barricades even on flat, open terrain.
Power Generation
Constrictor tanks are the only known landship to utilize microimpact engines to power the entire machine. However, to start up the power system, terran batteries are used to kickstart the engines.
Propulsion
Power from the engines is used to turn the sturdy gears that pull continuous track. This track pulls up debris and launches it into the engines, providing nearly constant power once the tanks start moving.
Weapons & Armament
The tank itself is a weapon. By manipulating the configuration of overlapping plates, a tank pilot can wrap the vehicle around enemy structures such as siege engines and provide pressure, causing the opposing structure to break. When that isn't viable, most constrictor tanks have the ability to create arrow slits, usually with steel-winch scorpions locked behind them. The front of the tanks are usually spiked, making them powerful ramming weapons.
Armor and defense
Constrictor tanks are covered in heavy overlapping steel plates, sometimes alchemically treated to provide additional hardness. The roof of the vehicle is sloped to help deflect projectiles.
