Mara’s Market
History
Mara's Market is as old as the town of Seafall itself, as Ryland Stormrider founded the market nearly as set up the origional fort that would become Seafall. Over the 200 years plus since, the market has been expaded, now holding roughly 150 vendors, mostly local, but more and more forign traders have been returning to the market. When Cedric Stormrider took over the head of house, he spent significant resources to upgrade the market grounds with cobblestones so vendors would not have wares ruined in the muddy tracks and ruts of a dirt field.
Mara market is now the heart of the bustling small town, Mara’s market thrives with activity. Colorful banners flutter overhead, casting vibrant hues upon the lively scene. Merchants peddle their wares, from well crafted weapons to occasionally exotic spices and fine furs. Laughter and chatter fill the air as locals and travelers alike peruse the goods, eager to strike a bargain. The aroma of freshly baked bread and sizzling meats wafts from nearby stalls, enticing hungry patrons to indulge in savory delights. Musicians play lively tunes, their melodies weaving through the crowd, adding to the festive atmosphere. Amidst the flurry of commerce, the spirit of camaraderie prevails, uniting all who gather in this thriving marketplace.
Those merchants who sell the exotic or the more valuble goods, stay at the Silver Stag Inn, those of more common folk stayed at the Rusty Iron Tankard while it was open.
The colourful banners mark the different stalls. The Master of Coin Erlich Stormrider sits a booth, collecting the 10 copper pieces for a market stall.
