Spinners Mill

History

Built in 1064 outside the wooden stockade of Seafall on orders of Ivar Stormrider to mill the local grain and corn. This saved the bakers the endless hours of hand grinding the grain and corn.

The large two story wooden mill features a large millstone powered by wind power or manually by a donkey turning in circles. The family that lives and works the mill lives in the attached house to the mill.

When the wheat is ground into flour, the resulting powder is extremely flammable, and so large windows are set into the walls to provide light. The millers only work by sunlight, as torches candles and lanterns are too dangerous.

During the Siege of Seafall the family of millers were unable to get to Seafall in time, and were killed, the mill looted.

Currently it is in a state of ruin and needs to be repaired to be operational again. However such a vital part of the local economy is unlikely to remain ruined for long.
