Ryland Stormrider

Born in 970 CA, Ryland Brightwater was the lesser cousin of House Brightwater set to inherit little but a noble name. In 994 Ryland was assigned a brigade of merchant prince mercenaries, to expand the trade power West of Port Haven , stronghold of House Brightwater.

During his expedition Ryland came in contact with the forest tribes in 995. Establishing a port settlement to trade with the local forest tribe, this military port would eventually become Seafall, . 

For more than 10 years Ryland ran the port settlement under House Brightwater, however in 1012, everything changed. Under economic pressure from piracy and other political manifestations, House Brightwater petitioned the Sultan to separate the port town of Seafall from its control saying it could not protect the people there. The Sultan agreed and Seafall was granted to Ryland Stormrider, creating House Stormrider . 

In 1026, relations with the forest tribes broke down and conflict began. Ryland was killed this same year by elk riders, leaving House Stormrider to his son, Aldric Stormrider, also known as the Kraken
