House Collias

House Collias is a Alsonan noble house that has traditionally ruled in the southern part of the nation. It has diminished somewhat over the past few decades, and only a handful of members still remain. These individuals are the top of the roost in the town of Potamipoli, including its mayor, Peter Collias. The popularity of the mayor has diminished, and the wealth of the House remains in considerable doubt.

Public Agenda

The public objective of House Collias is to provide political support for all members of the Alsonan public, human and dwarf alike. It also stands for a fight against corruption, and the preservation of integrity and dignity within the government of Alsona. They are also one of the few houses in Alsona that believes a true treaty with Valtkos Wingo and the Tenashi Kingdom should be made.

Assets

House Collias possesses access to much of the wealth of Potamipoli, what of it there is. Unfortunately, past leaders of the House have squandered much its finances, and the Wingo War only exacerbated the situation. The wealth of the town dried up, and the only thing keeping it going has been the taxes collected and the accumulated lucre collected by its current head on his adventures throughout Emicara. A handful of former retired adventurers also serve the head of the house, as his close friends and advisors, far more powerful than your usual bodyguard or retinue.

History

House Collias is a venerable noble House in the Kingdom of Alsona. They are believed to have been some of the original founders of the town of Potamipoli, when the Kingdom of Alsona was still just a vassal of the Shin Empire. The wealth of local resources and the rise of the town as a trading post with the Shin Empire helped surge the family's fortunes and they became highly influential. In time, however, the influence of the city diminished, particularly when the Kingdom became independent and relations with the Shin soured. The family attempted to switch to the lumber business, but demand never quite reached the same point when tariffs with the Shin continued to grow. A selection of corrupt family heads and mayors of Potamipoli bled the town dry and the family spent most of its funds and goodwill. Only when an adventuring scion returned to the city and deposed his brother in 1018 did the fortunes of the House begin to reverse.
