Saladin Vercin

A red dragonborn and former leader of the Bahamut, 886 - 899. His predecessor, Varys Bahamut, was forced to resign in disgrace after a corruption scandal forced a vote of no confidence against him. Saladin proved to be an effective politician, striking a lucrative trade deal with Rakka and Despero and maintaining cordial relations with the Elflands Empire. He even found a way to make a profit from the dragonshine smuggling organization known as the Kobold Shipping Service by allowing its operation to go on uninterrupted for a small fee. His support fell drastically in 897 after he allowed thousands of elves from the Elflands to settle in Bahamut Mtns., and he never managed to restore his support levels even after many of the refugees returned to Henriad and the Golden Forests. He was voted out of office in 898, replaced by the nation's representative to the Treaty of Iverburg Jezean Hestheroth. He died in his home village in 902.
