Fairouz the Undying
A powerful lich and former Duchess of the Court of the Undying. The widow of the cultist Darwish the Undying, she was charged with handling affairs in southern Avicenna during the Court of the Undying’s plots of the 870’s. When the Court of the Undying fell apart she founded a new league of cultists known as the Coven in 875, establishing her headquarters on the Myltevian island of Stachka and using it as a launching pad for invasions into Avicenna and beyond. She tried to use the ancient Ostry Blade to summon a monstrous deity from the Far Realms to the world of Ekal, but her plan was foiled by the Royal Knights Brigade when Catriona killed her once and for all in 876.
This period unrest in Liat, referred to as the Fairouz Terror, may have been the origins of the world's first reported kalashtar. Fairouz's machinations led to several disturbances in the Veil that protected Ekal from extradimensional forces, perhaps allowing for quori to infiltrate Ekal and spread their influence.
