Nightstone

Nightstone is a village in the northern Ulmark, near the Brunlake and the Cem River. Less than 100 people live within Nightstone.

Notable Locations & Landmarks

• Nightstone Inn - A two-story building that serves as Nightstone's central social hub. This tavern/inn is owned and run by Dunclay. Meals, a healthy assortment of ales and clean lodging are available here.
• Nightstone Obelisk - A strange obsidian pillar covered in runes. Many learned people have tried investigating it and arcanists' Detect Magic confirm traces of magic emanating from it, but it's purpose and history is still unknown.
• Temple to Chauntea - A simple temple to the goddess Chauntea.
• Smithy - Owned by Haldira Brookmill, this small smithy is equipped for creating and fixing basic metal implements, such as horseshoes, farming tools and occasionally simple weapons and armaments.

The Forked Streams Cloister of the Order of Mnemothos is nearby (several hours by horseback) and hosts a repository of Nightstone's local history, including on local families. As is tradition with cloisters of the Order, nearby settlements provide donations of funds, food and basic supplies for the sustenance of its clergy, who in turn provide medical care (though usually end-of-life) and final rites.
