03: Swiftarm's Swift Demise
General Summary
Within the Dripping Caverns, the party hears the villagers and their Goblin capturers. Swiftarm offers to release only Father Mullen, but is defeated by the party in order to free all the prisoners. They learn that among those killed were the Nightstone Mayor Hulbrin and an acolyte of the Order of Mnemothos who accompanied Father Mullen, Sister Fennu. Pilfered treasure from the village is recovered as well.
Father Mullen explains Fire Giants were seen hurling boulders from a flying tower and overheard them mentioning the Vonindod. The Fire Giants were also responsible for taking the Nightstone Obelisk. He remarks their odd behavior in causing trouble for small folk. The party will escort him back to the Forked Streams Cloister where he will conduct some research.
Back in Nightstone, the party runs into Brent and Kella Durben of the roving bandits, but 'convince' them never to bother the town again. Haldira Brookmill, a blacksmith, thanks and rewards the party on behalf of the town. The party will endeavor to return later to help with the town's rebuilding.
