Âdocôdix - Goblin

Âdocôdix is a humanoid species living on Brictaelgis and means goblin. The Draelgian word for goblin is derived from the ancient Dralian word Âtogôtaigs. Although they are significantly smaller than giants and trolls, their intelligence and ability to harness earth magic have allowed them to become the most important humanoid species on Brictaelgis.

Physiology

Goblins reach sizes between 90 cm and one meter. Your body weight is between 15 and 25 kg. Depending on the habitat they live in, they have light to dark green skin colors. The spectrum of their eyes lies in the green to bluish range. Their hair colors vary from blonde to black mixed with green and blue tones in all possible shades.   The skeleton of adult goblins consists of around 250 bones. Your heart is located in the middle of your chest. They go through two sets of teeth over the course of their lives.   In addition, they have an extendable, flexible ground spike called the Drûgæl on their tailbone, which they can use to connect with Mother Earth. If this is injured or separated, this will have an impact on the character of the individual and its negative characteristics will intensify.

"Greed, deceit, sowing discord, depression! I tell you, it all comes from a certain gentleman losing his Drûgæl. One should put an end to his suffering until someone else gets hurt."

Way of life

Âdocôdix are extremely intelligent and can adapt very well to their environment. They live in harmony with nature and try to take only as much of it as they need and can give back. They are extremely empathetic individuals and very family-oriented. Their homes are either between the trees or in nested cave systems.   Goblins are omnivores without being squeamish. This means that what you might consider disgusting, they would eat without hesitation. Their menu consists of tasty herbs, grilled insects, various grains, meat of all kinds and lots of vegetables, fruit and mushrooms.

Reproduction

Goblins live up to 175 years. It is believed that through their connections to Mother Earth, simple renewal processes take place in their bodies that either regenerate their cells more quickly or cause them to age more slowly. This means that goblins who lack Drûgæl or who have reached the human world through portals die more quickly.   Âdocôdix are sexually mature between the ages of 18 and 20. Most female goblins have offspring between the ages of 40 and 75. A pregnancy lasts about 200 days. Twin and triplet births are very rare and are considered a true miracle among the goblins. At birth, baby goblins are about 25 cm tall and weigh about one kilogram. They are weaned from their mother at the latest when they are around two years old.

Development history

The first goblins were born during the Age of Creation on the banks of the Thoininhi and Thointris from the womb of Êlgista - Goddess of Earth . In the 8th century of the 8th millennium before the founding of the Council (BEC) they went on a journey and settled west of the Drûddâci - Greenlings on a lake that was many times larger than the Thoininhi.   After this lake was destroyed by a devastating earthquake, the descendants of the first goblins moved to the south of Brictaelgis and founded Âdocôris - Land of meadows there. Over the course of the following centuries, there were repeated expansions into the remaining areas of the continent. The last places "conquered" by the goblins were the icy regions of Tùgwlduin and Nârinhinûcoi to the north-west.

Today, Âdocôdix live throughout Brictaelgis and over the millennia five different ethnic groups have emerged. They are all united by their belief in The brictaelgican Pantheon and the primal power of Mother Nature. Their common language is Drælgit in different dialects, which was formed from the proto-language Ddral. More similarities can be found in the article Âdocôdix - Cultural connections.

1 "If you want to visit us Frost Goblins, you must travel to the ice areas of Taen Wôtris. We have mint green skin and very light green to almost white hair."
2 "You can find us night goblins in Wâdrivi. We feel most comfortable in tree houses. Our skin and hair range from the darkest shades of green to black."
3 "We Meadow goblins live in southern Âdocôris mainly in winding stone caves. At one meter we are the largest goblins. We have lime, grass or emerald green skin and green-blond, red or brown hair. Our tricks with earth magic are the best, which is why we are the dominant ethnic group of goblins."
4 "We belong to the forest goblins of Taen Wôtris. We also prefer tree houses. Our skin is forest green. Our hair is green-blue-black."
5 "Stone goblins like us can be found in eastern Râx Evâri. We love our mossy caves. Our skin is gray-green and our hair is blue-gray."
