Llangoed Forest
The Llangoed Forest is a large forest that sits between the villages of Darknook and Starleaf Vale. It surrounds the Murky Lagoon but is thicker on the Eastern side.
It has always been a dense, dark forest, full of large trees with a thick canopy but it was a forest that locals entered with caution but never fear. Until the end of 4590 when the forest fell silent.
The sounds of birds and animals have stopped entirely and it is now oppressively silent. All evidence of life gone, except for the webs. Countless spider webs now choke the forest and those still brave enough to travel the road between Darknook and the Vale report encounters with huge spiders, some that use magic.

History
The forest has previously been invaded by Arkud, Queen of Spiders, back in the prehistory of Dorwine. At that time she was driven from the forest by the archdruid Atam Wishart using the Staff of the Woodlands.
