Atam Wishart

Atam Wishart is a hero from the past of Dorwine. He was an archdruid who rose in opposition to Arkud - Queen of Spiders. She had been attempting to infect the County with her brood. Using the Staff of the Woodlands Wishart was able to drive the spiders from their toe-hold in the Llangoed Forest towards Icewood Vale. There Arkud and Wishart faced off, and during the encounter the Queen of Spiders was banished into slumber beneath the ice. Wishart fell, spent and it was believed his staff was lost.


Throughout Dorwine Atam is held up as a defender of nature and a sort of “patron saint” of those afraid of spiders, who invoke his name to give them courage in the face of their fears.
