History of the Long War

The Long War is in contention for the bloodiest conflict ever fought on the face of Diyu, rivaled only by Zamain's Crusades half a millennium ago. It lasted from 649 YS to 967 YS, stretching from the Sang Bing Wood to the Lururer Bay, 8000 km of fighting.

649 YS 702 YS

This was the age that saw Laran pushed back, as a cavalcade of quick Imperator deaths meant that no central control could be expanded for long. The lack of a unified army meant that the far more cohesive and communicative Akroni made great gains into Laran's territory.

Sotteran Front Era

703 YS 729 YS

After the ascension of the Imperator and their consolidation of power, Larani forces began to hold the line in the Overlands. Underground, however, they fared far better, contesting several crucial caverns lost in the last half a century, and reclaiming lost territory.

Total War

What would continue for the bulk of the War's remainder, the passing of major Crusader figures allowed Laran and Akronis to resume their all out conflict, reducing several entire regions to ash
