Ascension of Mecogt Kana

After a brief power struggle--brief on a Larani scale--Mecogt Kana ascended to the seat of Imperator, bringing what had been formed of the Larani army to bear against the Akroni reinforcing the Aphes Valley.

Following the death of Shokta of the House of Baden Hill at theBattle of Uxcelesch Plain , the Okosovai started assassinating each other left and right. The only Okosovai to last the 2 months from Shokta's death to Kana's ascension was the Okosovai of Economic Matters.

Kana's power was concentrated in the SouthEast of the Empire, with the Lati in the Southern half of the Desert of the Saviour declaring for her, as well as the Eastern nobles on the Everlasting Jungle. The other contenders were far too fractured in their support to provide meaningful resistance. The principal obstacles to her rise were the Okosovai, who provided a united front against her.

A few clashes between their combined army resulted in the deaths of the Okosovai leading the armies, and their replacements (loyal to Kana) were assassinated by the Okosovai of intelligence, who was assassinated in turn by his top assassin.

Foregoing the coronation in Boqek, Mecogt Kana declared her uncontested--not strictly true--Imperatorship and led her army and the remnants of the Okosovai's army to the Aphes Valley.
