Magical Tattoos
attoos have been integrated into the fashion of Daënfel for time immemorial, with particular focus being put towards the inscribing of magic through ink following the events of The Breach. Tattooing was formulated during the earliest times of the Kingdom of Eá-galwen, as an alternate art-form that utilized the body as a canvas. Depictions of tattoos from this time are heavily inspired by the world of Daënfel, with many natural motifs depicting the flora and fauna that the Dagnir Sen encountered. The earliest mages of the Conclave and Founding Fathers both separately began enchanting tattoos with magical powers in the years following Avlar's conquest. Tattoos were provided to young initiate warriors looking to defend their homes from the monsters of The Maw, including those that provide both protection and offensive capabilities. The art of tattooing progressed as time went on, with the people of Helias and the Weavers & Spinners Union taking a great fondness for the artform when freeflowing trade was re-established with the other cities. Artisans of various tattooist guilds formed across the newly formed Dawning Empire, each developing the enchantments woven within the ink for different purposes. One such development was led by The Emissary Guild of Helias, who adopted the art and began to weave intricate messages into the skin of their members. Tattooists in the city of Wallsend siphoned the latent powers inherent in the magical artifacts retrieved from the ruins of Avalon, inscribing powerful combat affects into their work. Today, tattoos with many decorative and functional purposes can be found throughout Daënfel, with pliers of the trade travelling the realms and offering their services to those with enough coin to fund their vision being given life on their skin.
