Pantheon of Gods & Demon Lords

The following is a near-complete list of the gods, divine beings and devil lords that occupy the celestial realm of Sanctuary & hellish realms of The Writhing Chaos, respectively. Mortals wishing to pledge service to a divine creature ought to understand their chosen deity's desires and strength; Paragons often choose to support Warlocks but are rarely strong enough to support clerics or druids, while True Gods rarely choose to support warlocks but can regularly support great churches of powerful clerics.

The Holy Gods

Primordials

The only deities which were not created, but born. The Primordials are divine entities that have existed since The Beginning, with power beyond the scope of any ascended deity (the True Gods, below).   Xandrius. The enigmatic Lady of Time, whose ideals and desires are unknown to all. Their existence is undeniable all the same, as evidence by the rare (but real) Chronomancy practiced by some experienced (and rarely stable) wizards.   The Sculptor. Considered an ancestor to Artos, the Sculptor fashioned the mountains from clay and filled the oceans with rainfall. Like Xandrius, the Sculptor engages not with mortals or celestials of any kind.   Seraphine. The Mother of Magic and Master of the Weave. Creation myths hold that no magic touched the realms until Seraphine poured her magic into the earth and created the Ley Lines. Unlike Xandrius and the Sculptor, Seraphine engages (albeit rarely) with mortals and other gods, leaving none to question her existence.

True Gods

All deities at this rank were, at some point, mortal. They have each ascended through deeds heroic or otherwise to sit upon their respective godly thrones.   Artoš. Mother of wild things and savage protector of forest, sea and mountain. Her symbol is a crescent moon.   Azrael. A god of kindness, mercy, rebirth and holy flame. His symbol is a phoenix feather.   Beryllian. The divine manifestation of Law itself and sister to Artos. Her symbol is a blue dragon's scale.   Callahan. A lesser deity of skies, liberty and artisans. Son to D'haar and Artos.   D'haar. A deity of storms, earthquakes and eruptions. Feared and worshiped in equal measure, but especially by those who make their home by the sea or underground.   Ko'suth. A god of competition, adversity and war. His symbol is a fractured copper shield.   Malgelirion. A macabre god of death and nightmares. His symbol is a one-eyed skull.

The Unholy 'Gods'

Though the celestials of Sanctuary are not strictly good-aligned, they are rarely evil. The same cannot be said of the Archdevils and Demon Lords of the Writhing Chaos. Though not true "gods" as they hold no divine spark and thus cannot maintain clerics (with a single exception), the are nonetheless immensely powerful and rival the strength of most lesser deities in Sanctuary.   The Red God. The father of Murder, Lord of the Abyss and Patriarch of Chaos. The only True God among the Demon Lords.   Aalackosh. A gluttonous demon lord of hunger, associated with oozes and beholders.   Astaroth, the Betrayer. Demon Lord of Betrayal, associated with serpents and yuan-ti.   Baphomet. The demon lord of wrath, associated with goats, minotaurs and bulls.   Gorgoroth. Demon Lord of Hatred, associated with scorpions.   Malekith. Demon Lord of Fear, associated with Dragons and other draconids.   Yeenoghu. The demon lord of madness, associated with hyenas and gnolls.

Fallen Gods

Over the centuries, a scarce few deities have been slain by beings of immense power and will. The names, domains and histories of such gods are, by the very nature of their demise, purged from history. Nevertheless, a scant few details have been uncovered.   The Maker. The name given to the otherwise nameless dwarven goddess whose mark can be seen only in the ancient dwarven city of @Bur Daghuul, in the northern reaches of Dumont.   The Lord of Dragons. A title which perhaps understates the importance of this fallen god of dragons to draconian culture. Long-lived elves and the eldest of dragons may yet recall the time of this dragon god's existence, wherein the now-nomadic dragonborn thrived in a dominant empire and paid tribute to their prismatic dragonlord of divine, draconian beauty.
