Malekith Character in D&D | World Anvil

Malekith

Demon Lord of Fear

Malekith is the Demon Lord of Fear and often associated with the new moon, deep shadows and dragons. He rules his domain of Chaos from atop a high tower of black steel, adorned with hanging corpses of the evil dead. The youngest of the Demon Lords but no lesser for it, Malekith is the last known broodling of the late dragon Eondris, and under fiendish influence was hatched as a draconic wyrmling to the greater demon Merodach. Of growing ambition, Malekith slew his fiendish master and drank his power, rising to the rank of Demon Lord sometime in the last half-century.   The sinister minions of Malekith are said to linger beneath every shadow, around every dark corner, always lurking. When the moon disappears from the sky and blinds the gods above, Malekith's minions run free and his endless horrors ravage the minds of all unfortunate enough to witness them.

Tieflings of Fear

The horns of a Malekithian tiefling tend to resemble those of red dragons, often curling around the rear of their head to form a fiendish crown of ivory. Such tieflings are themselves fearless and inspire a particular fear in the peasantry around them. This fear coalesces in varied forms; townsfolk bar their doors, innkeeps turn the tieflings away and in remote, lawless lands some Tieflings of Fear are exiled or slain to protect the townsfolk.
