Beryllian Myth in D&D | World Anvil

Beryllian

The Oathbinder, Dragonknight, Bastion of Iron

Beryllian (sometimes Beryl or Berill) is a goddess of civilization, law, duty, order and truth. She favours lawmen, nobility, and any bound by oath. Beryllian's name, title or patronage is often invoked for promises or oaths of great importance and legends hold that oathbreakers meet Beryllian's own wrath upon their death. Beryllian was among the earliest ascended deities along with her sister, Artoš.   Beryllian resides in her Halls of Judgement in Sanctuary, alongside her blue dragon celestial Tyrogosa.

Worshipers

Among Berylllian's worshipers were judges, lawyers, magistrates, and paladins. In the Human-dominated regions of Anderim, Bedegar and Cambria where the Myrish faith dominates, most guardsmen are sworn to Beryllian and her ideology.   Common offerings to the Oathbinder include small trinkets of cobalt, or small pieces of raw cobalt ore.

Oathbinding

Beryllian's tie to sworn oaths is so strong that oaths made invoking her name have been known to carry a magical enforcement. Those who break oaths bound in her name have been known to suffer severe trauma, or death.

Angels

Tyrogosa

A mighty blue dragon of unyielding zeal to Beryllian. When the need arises, Beryllian rides into combat atop Tyrogosa's sapphire wings, and all who oppose them tremble in fear. Tyrogosa was Beryllian's companion in her mortal life and gained a figment of divinity when Beryllian ascended to godhood. She remains the only known draconic celestial.

The Judge

Among the most well known of any solar, the Judge meets the recently departed at the gates to sanctuary, where she weighs their evil acts against a feather. Those who pass this test are given access to Sanctuary, and those who fail are cast into the Abyss. The Judge is the only member of the Court Macabre not under the direct control of Malgelirion.
