The Dueling Dancers

The Dueling Dancers by Orinik Hallowbill

Born by the Lakes the force of life was freed,
she was ignorant of Fate
And learned to love and hate
Rejected, banished was she to the streets,

The Cynosure would call to her and give her Wisdom.
She would learn her role and follow her Vision.

Born of Demons where life would whither
He would spread the Corruption
And his plans for Destruction.
Loved and secured, calling death to come hither.

The Cynosure had no influence on his Actions.
He would learn from his own Passions.

They would dance on a field of Death
All would end with a single Breath
She felt the cold heart and knew the Price
He felt the end as both became Ice.

History of The Blessed Curse

The Pureborn are a special race that are always born with a miracle, but a demon is also born to the world at the same time creating a tragedy. The Pureborn are born of other races and have most of the physical qualities of their parents, but also has some distinct features making them look odd or foreign. Androlin Vergus was the first Pureborn, her birth is estimated to be around 1325, but historians aren't sure. Her birth was not recorded and it is believed her unusual look frightened the parents and Androlin was abandoned.

Talos Stonebeam was believed to be born at the exact same moment, but was not recorded either. He is believed to be born of cultists, but would later kill them and attempt to hunt the pureborn. Their final fight was in the Bloodstone Cave near The Lost Beacon. It has been suggested that both were frozen in ice by something Androlin did, but they would then melt and be erased from history.

Later, their births are both attributed to Brant Runs in the Bellow during 1325 as this is the recorded day of the miracle and the disaster.
Note: I am still working on an article with more about the Pureborn and the Demons born together. Sadly, it is not available yet.

The poem captures the story well, and the concept of two creatures born at the same moment only to eventually come together in opposition is just... I love that. Good job. *clap*

Thank you, I hope to expand on the Pureborn quite a bit more in the future. Glad you liked it.

The idea of a 'good' and 'evil' being born at the same time with counter-acting effects is pretty interesting. It definitely paints a picture of a 'balance of opposite forces' effect.

Yeah, this is actually an odd concept to them as the Cynosure isn't really about balance. There is still a lot of confusion about why the Pureborn were created in the first place.
