Sigrid Grimr

One of the three legendary members of the Invincible Warband who helped found the Kingdom of Aslaga

Grand Provost Marshal Sigrid Grimr (a.k.a. Lady Rainbolt)

You think I helped squash your miserable little kingdom because of a grudge? Hnh. Don't make me laugh - I helped squash your insignificant civilization because my queen ordered me to, nothing more. Anything less would bring shame upon me as her Warmaster.   Unlike you cretins, my issues with your rotten Allfather did not color my opinion of you, his precious "children", overmuch. A kindness I cannot say he ever visited upon my people.   Sorry to damage your fragile ego, but I couldn't care less about you or your miserable little species of misers and grudge-wielders. Your entire civilization meant little more to me than stepping on an insect - a moment's curiosity, to be wiped off and forgotten by its betters.   Those who kneel get my mercy, and keep their lives; Those who are bold enough to grab a sword get my respect, and a swift death - that is all. You seem to be laboring under the misconception that what I do, I do out of malice towards your dying race of miserable rock-eaters - in truth, you obsess over this grudge my people seem to have with yours and cling to it as if it makes you important.   You assume you are the center of the universe, and interpret my actions as those of a woman bent on revenge - when in truth, I give you no more thought than the dust I trod upon. Your friends died like insects - pulverized under a single step - because they dared to resist our rightful rule. You live because you are far too cowardly to draw your blade - and are thus unworthy of my time. It is as simple as that. As to why I'm indulging you with these words, I leave that for your limited mind to wonder about.   You may either choose to believe me or to cling to your species' mental deficiencies and follow them into extinction. I, personally, care little which you choose - either you become another subject I must protect with my life, or an enemy to be flattened underfoot. Anything else beyond that, is the domain of sophists and politicians.
— Sigrid Grimr, spoken to the sole survivor of a band of Dwarven Freedom Fighters that attempted a Coup d'etat against the Aslagan Government during the Age of Troubles

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Towering and hardened even by the standards of her people, Sigrid is a monolithic woman whose natural size even eclipses that of her queen Aslauge Daenic - her body harder than Adamantine and standing at the peak of the physical condition, she is utterly healthy and has never suffered a disease or malady a single day of her very long life.   Healthy, fit, and in fighting shape, Sigrid appears to many as a gorgeous sculpture carved from marble and dyed blue - her body lean and muscular with nary a single bit of wasted skin, muscle, or fat.

Body Features

Massive and muscular, Sigrid is an imposing citadel of a woman whose muscles bulge beneath her skin and whose every bodily inch oozes steely strength - though she is often derided by many of her Dai-Yukai sisters for her notably less feminine body more akin to a solid slab of iron roughly pounded out into humanoid form than any excessively "girly" or "feminine" form.   Additionally, while many assume(Somewhat correctly) that Dai-Yukai have a naturally easier time appearing as muscular and powerful as they do, such assumptions drastically undercut just how much work Sigrid puts in each and every day to keep herself in fighting shape(A number said to near four to six hours a day or more)

Facial Features

Combined with her fairly androgynous or, at least, less "feminine" body, Sigrid's face, while feminine, possesses a strange androgynous beauty that Dai-Yukai so rarely find themselves representing - her jaw squarer and her nose wider and more broad, her eyebrows thicker and bushier than most of her kin while her forehead and cheeks are said to be wider than is normal for many of her kind.   Perhaps most oddly, she possess two hard to notice circular "stumps" on her forehead that are often well-hidden by her hair - best felt as two massive lumps underneath her skin for any tall or bold enough to feel her forehead...almost as if two horns took shape during her infancy but failed to fully grow and break through her skin.

Identifying Characteristics

Aside from her extreme height, Sigrid's most identifying feature is her Golden-Blonde hair - an utter rarity amongst her species that has long set her apart from her sisters. Additionally, her body also is difficult to miss due to the beautiful tattoos dedicated to Thor, The Stormson that crisscross her body like a beautiful tapestry of thunder and lightning that seem to move and twitch whenever Sigrid takes the time to flex or move in certain ways(Which she often does as a party trick to entertain others).   Additionally, due to her notoriously poor hygiene, Sigrid's skin is covered in stains and grime of all kinds - most notably dozens of tiny bloodstains on the soles of her feet, around her ankles and legs, and more infrequently all across her body that have frozen to her skin; evidence of past foes slain or, in some cases, some foes whose lives were cut short by a single crushing stomp or kick. In some places on her skin, one can even see words and other grafitti written on her body by her tribesmen in the Grimr tribe as a joke(Some of which has remained on her for months, years, or even decades).

Physical quirks

Aside from her utterly freakish size, Sigrid's body is supernaturally durable and abnormally androgynous - as if she managed to reach a previously theoretical level of muscle mass and testosterone that finally eclipsed the ability of her Dai-Yukai biology to retain her feminity in the face of. Her durability, however, is a bit more of a mystery(Described in more detail in the "Special Abilities" section of this page).

Special abilities

As a Risen Deity who attained her divinity by absorbing a fragment of the dead god Thor, The Stormson's divinity, Sigrid has gained a host of unique powers pertaining to the origins of this power - able to influence the weather, bring fertility to crops and creatures alike, summon bolts of raging lightning and wield electricity and sound as weapons, and countless other wondrous abilities too numerous to list here.   Perhaps most notably, however, the power of Thor, The Stormson that manifested in her most strongly was the god's once-legendary strength said to have been so mighty that he alone was stronger than any other deity of his time - and this physicality has, seemingly, taken root in Sigrid as well; Making her a truly unstoppable demon on the battlefield who can easily tear dragons apart with her bear hands, lift mountains, and even crush the skulls of gods with her bare hands and feet. No part of her body benefitted as much from this ascension to divinity, however, as much as her durability - already unnaturally durable before her ascension into Risen Godhood, Sigrid's absorption of Thor, The Stormson's divine shard has made her utterly invincible by no exaggeration; weapons shattering harmlessly against her skin as even mighty Adamantine blades leave superficial cuts and little more.

Apparel & Accessories

Sigrid prefers the comfort of her armor above all else - and as such is seen almost exclusively in her resplendent suit of Golden Plate Armor(Designed to cover her waist, legs, and tops of her feet much more comprehensively than her body above her waist), beautiful golden earrings set with sapphires, and a golden headband to keep her hair out of her eyes. Never one for jewelry or adornments, Sigrid cuts a fairly imposing and spartan appearance - yet is nonetheless undeniably beautiful to many.

Specialized Equipment

By and large, Sigrid possesses only two pieces of specialized equipment - her enormous suit of Platemail Armor(Forged by her own hands and customized countless times over her centuries of life to best suit her combat style and common foes) which slowly turned gold due to a strange electric resonance between it and her weapon of choice, Bysmir, The Godslaying Spear. This Spear, said to have been a holy relic of the Grimr clan since even before her ascension to the seat of Chieftain, supposedly dates all the way back to before the fall of Giantkind and is said to have served as the weapon used by the champion of Moradin(Or by some accounts, Moradin himself) to skewer the heart of Thor during The Jotunhunts long ago, absorbing the dying Thunder God's roaring power and became a weapon beyond the realm of mortals - utterly suffused with True Lightning(Better known as Goldbolt) and all the fury and rage of a dying god, and filled with a malevolence that made it all but impossible to wield by Man and God alike which almost seemed to delight in snuffing out the lives of those who dared try to lay hands upon it.   This weapon, having finally unlocked its true power after being tamed by Sigrid over centuries of use, quite nearly possessed her and destroyed her soul during the Age of Troubles - when she fought alongside Aslauge Daenic and her Warband alongside Freyja, The Godkiller against Moradin, The Allfather and the spear's nascent shard of Thor, The Stormson rage-filled soul and divine essence possessed Sigrid in its maddening quest to finally exact revenge on the deity who killed him. While this possession infused Sigrid with unbelievable power, it would have killed her had she not regained her sanity at the last moment thanks to the aid of Aslauge Daenic and the others in the Warband - fully absorbing the calmed soul of the Thunder God which attained its revenge and ascending into Risen Godhood.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

See the "Reign" section of this article for a detailed look at Sigrid's history.

Sexuality

Sigrid, unlike many Dai-Yukai, seems to be rather reticent in matters of sexuality - almost shy and preferring to keep such matters a private, personal affair even when her role as Chieftain of the Grimr tribe would demand her perform such acts(As giving birth to children is often considered a great honor to the Dai-Yukai, who so rarely give birth such that is happens once or twice in an entire Human lifetime).

Accomplishments & Achievements

Became Chieftain of the Grimr tribe before she had even reached full adulthood.   Led her tribe on a decades-long exodus to start a new life high above the Aslagan Mountains.   Aided Aslauge Daenic and the Giants of the Aslagan Mountains to conquer the subterrannean empire of the Dwarves and found The Kingdom of Aslaga.

Failures & Embarrassments

If Sigrid has experienced any notable failures or embarassments, they are not public knowledge.

Mental Trauma

Sigrid's unnatural aversion to sexuality or similar acts may well hint at some trauma relating to such matters, but this has never been confirmed.

Intellectual Characteristics

An intelligent and savvy Leader, Sigrid is a woman whose Ego never stands in the way of her planning - always most concerned at all times with the stability of her people and their wellbeing, Sigrid does not make overly complex schemes nor does she charge ahead foolishly and blindly; Instead, her intellectual characteristics are best described as "Master of Cause and Effect" - always aware of the consquences of her actions, Sigrid is a woman who is tends to most always be straightforward and direct in her dealings, but who measures each move she makes carefully in such a way that she knows no doubt and seems at times to be almost omniscient - though only because she has studied so thoroughly before putting her plans into action.   She is keenly aware of how lacking she is in matters of politics and scheming, and has long since decided to make up for her deficiences with hard work and study of those around her and being willing to accept anything no matter its source as help.

Morality & Philosophy

Sigrid's morality places the greatest importance on the community to which she belongs and is a part of - she places their needs above all else, and will go any length to provide for them, to care for them, to put them before her in all aspects and ensure their wellbeing and security; Community is most important of all to Sigrid, who was accepted into the Grimr tribe as an infant despite not being of them, and thus nothing is more important to her in all the world save perhaps her faith in Thor, The Stormson.   Beyond this love of community, Sigrid is a warrior queen at heart - one who places great importance on honor and loyalty, Sigrid is a steadfast, loyal woman who serves the causes and creatures she believes in with the ardor and zealous martyrdom of a Holy Knight. She seeks honor on the battlefield, seeing the killing of an unarmed foe as an act devoid of honor, and constantly seeks the battle in which she might meet her end - almost obsessed with the moment of her death and ensuring it is as grandiose a moment as her life has been.   In pursuit of these ideals, no act is otherwise too far - she places no great emphasis on goodness or evil, and is largely willing to commit any act no matter how virtuous or vile if it means attaining glory or honor or otherwise providing for her community.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Though Sigrid has long undoubtedly concerned herself with the wellbeing of her tribe, she has since merged her tribe with The Kingdom of Aslaga and has concerned herself primarily with furthering the goals of her sworn Queen Aslauge Daenic, protecting her and looking out for her wellbeing, and protecting the citizens of the Kingdom they formed together with the same zeal as she does with her Queen herself.

Virtues & Personality perks

Compared to many Dai-Yukai, Sigrid is an astonishingly progressive woman and even more progressive Chieftain - in many ways similar to Aslauge Daenic in that her greatest virtues are the ones that set her apart the most from her sisters. Possessed of a uniquely level-headed temperament amongst the Dai-Yukai, Sigrid is a woman whose Ego is never too large as to prohibit her from doing what she needs to to survive - always possessed of a sixth sense for when to cut her losses and when to press her advantage, Sigrid is a woman who respects talent no matter its source and treats the talented well regardless of their class, race, or background; a trait which is largely responsible for the devoted loyalty of her subordinates and has led her now legendary reputation as "The Mercenary Queen" of the Giants.   Always willing to learn something knew or to acknowledge that another could something better than her, Sigrid is a woman who speaks to those she meets evenly and fairly - even going so far as to squat down to speak to smaller creatures on a more even playing field - and who makes it a frequent point to "Mean what she says and say what she means" at all times. These traits, though small and easy to miss, are but a handful of her mannerisms that go a very long way to engendering loyalty from her tribe and those who work under her and mutual respect and even admiration in those who work alongside her such as mercenaries - those who meet her never soon forget the common respect they are given by her, the care which she takes to treat them no differently than she might treat another of her kind, and to treat them as honorably and fairly as she otherwise could.   Above all, Sigrid is loyal and honorable by and large - an ardent protector of hearth, home, and community in all forms(Not just that of her own species), she speaks with passion and conviction and is quick to accept yesterday's foes as today's friends so long as they genuinely promise to serve her, her goals, or to otherwise work alongside her as allies. These traits, though less notable in other species, make her truly exceptional and virtuous amongst her people - a veritable knight in shining golden armor whose strange ideas of honor and loyalty make her a far cry from many Giants of the modern day...and are perhaps why she has long felt a kinship with the faith of the long-dead god Thor, The Stormson, whose teachings once permeated Giant society long ago.

Vices & Personality flaws

For all her honor and her loyalty, Sigrid is a ruthless woman down to the very marrow of her bones who, despite her straightforward and respectful demeanor, has the heart and soul of a coastal raider beating within her frigid chest - while one could easily mistake her disdain for killing the unarmed and those who are not fighting back as honorable, the lives she spares in this way are often spared her blade or a flattening stomp only to be captured and enslaved at her hands as property, to be sold and spread to the markets of the world as another good to be traded and little more. This brand of ruthless pragmatism tempered by loyalty to her tribe and to her queen and the code of honor which she abides by, is well hidden from the gaze of the common folk - but one should make no mistake; While Sigrid is a woman who is genuine in her words when she pledges to protect her allies with her life and even her enemies provided they swear themselves to her, she is by no means merciful - an old hand at cruelty and slavery, she thinks absolutely nothing of sacking towns, destroying villages, enslaving entire populations or crushing entire civilizations to dust beneath her feet; All things done in service to her tribe are, to her, true and just.   In addition, she is a terribly notorious drunkard - afflicted with a temper so fierce while in the throes of alcohol that her drunken rages are the stuff of legend; the cruelty committed by her hand and under her foot while in such a delirium so barbaric that even her allies have oft resorted to imprisoning her or even outwright beating her unconscious until she can return to a sane state of mind. Gluttony and rage, though many claim both to be aspects of her personality added only recently during her ascension to Risen Godhood thanks to her absorption of a shard of the dead god Thor, The Stormson, are symptoms of her legendary and most terrible vice - alcohol.

Personality Quirks

Though she is by and large a very "straight and narrow" kind of woman, Sigrid has always, for reasons that have eluded her own kin, been unnaturally skittish and unhappy with the more carnal duties of every Dai-Yukai Chieftain - always reticent to lay with trophies or her tribeswomen and ESPECIALLY reticent when asked to give visiting smallfolk mercenaries a night of her time as a reward for their services rendered(A practice which isn't entirely uncommon in many Dai-Yukai tribes who so often separate sex from love), Sigrid's behavior is an utter mystery to her kin who always watch her handle such business in private and nowhere else.   ...of course, to most all other species who see such behavior, the label of "Maiden" might well come to mind. But, of course, few dare to speak such things for fear of insulting the woman in question...

Hygiene

Though Dai-Yukai culture, as with the culture of many True Giants, is one of barbarism and a notable lack of civilized hygiene, Sigrid is somewhat notorious for her poor hygiene even by the standards of her fellows and her queen Aslauge Daenic - as if she possesses a religious or cultural aversion to the very idea of hygiene, she has long avoided any manner of hygiene in favor of living as naturally as she is able; dancing in rainstorms and laying outside during thunderstorms both the sole means by which Sigrid has ever approached anything nearing 'cleanliness'.   So notorious is her lack of hygiene that many of her own tribe once joked that "It is good she favors The Stormson, for only his rains can get her clean" and often made games of betting on the arrival date of the next Rainstorm, or betting on who the faded, frozen bloodstains that so often decorate her Azure-Blue Skin had been in life(And how long their corpses had been frozen to her body) to the point that some especially cheeky members of her tribe would sneak up upon her when she wasn't paying attention and write names and dates upon her skin near bloodstains and other grime as grafitti.   Thankfully for all involved, Dai-Yukai bodies are seldom "living" enough to produce much sweat or other detritus, and thus rarely get 'dirty' in the same way as those of living beings like Humans do - and Sigrid is no exception.

Social

Reign

As the first and so far only Warmaster of Aslauge Daenic as well as Grand Provost Marshal of The Kingdom of Aslaga, Sigrid's reign is a complicated and complex thing - as it does not start there, but instead begins centuries ago when she was discovered as a small infant by the Grimr tribe who once called the frozen wastes of the north their home; Rapidly rising through the tribe to become its chieftain, Sigrid led the Grimr Tribe through some of its most dire and dangerous times - successfully leading the tribe through the exodus from their homeland when survivors from a far off Empire of Iron landed on the western shores of the tribe's ancestral lands, founding a city whose rapid industrialization brought them into constant conflict with the Grimr Tribe.   Sigrid, seeing the death her tribe was facing even as the tribe's previous chieftain kept throwing their best warriors at the city even as they continued to lose warrior after warrior, took the mantle of Chieftain in a duel and led her tribe on an Exodus from their ancestral lands for the sake of their very survival - an Exodus that lasted decades as she eventually led her tribe to settle in the mountains far to the south-east that are now known as The Aslagan Mountains. Settling in those high, frosty peaks and finding a home there among the other Dai-Yukai tribes and other Giant Tribes that called the mountain range their home, Sigrid continued to lead the Grimr tribe as an unchallenged monarch for centuries - defending them from countless threats both within and without and, perhaps most importantly, revitaling the dying tribe with several incredibly progressive policies that saw outsiders, mercenaries, and other worthy smallfolk who passed various tests and trials become full members of the tribe whose fresh blood helped revitalize the tribe and provide them with not only more breeding stock(As the tribe's population has suffered hugely), but did wonders for the morale of the tribesman who became highly upset and competitive seeing Sigrid's new mercenaries and other new smallfolk tribesmen begin to outcompete them for mates, for food, and for countless other glories.   Even beyond this, Sigrid's reign was perhaps best cemented by her early friendship with the Daenic Tribe - a legendary tribe native the mountains - and its legendary hero-queen Aslauge Daenic, who shared many of Sigrid's more progressive and free-thinking policies(All rarities among the Dai-Yukai). This friendship between not only Sigrid and Aslauge, but between the Grimr and Daenic Tribes, proved immensely beneficial for all involved and proved instrumental when the call to war was sounded and the Dai-Yukai of the Aslagan Mountains(Then named "The Dwarven Peaks"), invaded the underground nation of the Dwarves beneath the very mountains they dwelled upon and conquered it utterly to form The Kingdom of Aslaga.   Having served ever faithfully at the side of her queen and close friend Aslauge Daenic, Sigrid has proven instrumental in modernizing the mindsets and military practices of the Dai-Yukai of the newly formed kingdom - and perhaps the most trustworthy and beloved member of the Warband in ways that even Aslauge Daenic cannot match.

Contacts & Relations

As one of the most powerful Dai-Yukai Chieftains in the entire Kingdom of Aslaga and honored Warmaster to Aslauge Daenic, there are few in all of Corexus that do not know Sigrid - as she is especially savvy in her dealings with foreign powers and has long made an effort to court the favor of mercenaries, adventurers, and other smallfolk to supplement the strength of her tribe and allow them(As a tribe made up of the All-female Dai-Yukai) to have children with strong, willing partners rather than slaves taken in raids or subservient Jotun(Who have always been scarce in the Grimr Tribe).   In many regards, her network of smallfolk contacts is even more extensive than her network of contacts amongst Giantkind - a fact which has always been largely responsible for her odd reputation amongst her fellow sisters as a highly progressive, mercenary-obsessed Chieftain.

Family Ties

Though she undoubtedly has living parents somewhere on the planet of Ea, Sigrid is not believed to even know who they are - having washed up on the shores of her tribe's homeland hundreds of years ago from parts unknown, she has never truly reunited with her place or origin or her parents. Instead, as per Dai-Yukai custom, she has taken on the last name of her tribe as a family name and, now that she stands as chieftain, is the matriarch of that family in the truest sense - as she has, thanks to her Intersex biology that affords her the reproductive systems of both Male and Females(An incredibly rare biological quirk amongst Dai-Yukai even moreso than Humans), supposedly fathered countless children during her centuries-long tenure as Chieftain of the Grimr Tribe(Some of whom were supposedly fathered to smallfolk as payment for contracts or services rendered).

Religious Views

Sigrid's religious view have always been somewhat anachronistic even amongst her own people - as a lifelong follower of the Dead God Thor, The Stormson, she has faithfully upheld the ideals of this long-dead god for her entire life and spent much of her life spreading his word to others and seeking out his artifacts and remnants to claim as her own. Even after she led her tribe through its Exodus to the Aslagan Mountains and became close friends with Aslauge Daenic, ever the zealous follower of Freyja, The Godkiller, Sigrid has never abandoned her faith - though she pays clear and due respect to Freyja, The Godkiller as the undisputed ruler of The Giant Pantheon, she remains solely devoted to the teachings and ideals of Thor, The Stormson.   Where exactly she she chanced upon this faith or why she has believed and followed it so ardently throughout her life are both unknown - though her faith has recently been rewarded as she has proven the true and legitimate inheritor of The Divine Will of Thor, The Stormson, and a Risen Deity in her own right who ascended thanks largely to a small shard of her god's power that had long been trapped in the legendary spear Bysmir, which had once been used by Moradin, The Allfather to skewer the heart of Thor, The Stormson during the waning days of The Jotunhunts. Having tamed the mad shard of The Stormson that dwelled within the spear and claimed its power as her own, Sigrid remains a devoted follower of the dead god and loyal ally to Freyja, The Godkiller and the other Gods of The Giant Pantheon, whom she all respects and pays homage to with similar respect.

Social Aptitude

Though Sigrid's policies as Chieftain have always been progressive and her ideas rather open and innovative, social skills have never been her strong suit - her dealings always cemented with savvy wit, mutual respect, money, and strength rather than raw charisma. While a great deal more capable in social skills than the average Dai-Yukai, Sigrid is not over charismatic and is often rather blunt and direct in her dealings.

Mannerisms

Surprisingly, Sigrid is a great deal less brutish than many other Dai-Yukai - and especially moreso than her queen Aslauge Daenic, who is rather notoriously savage in her mannerisms. Sigrid, rather, is as proper and 'prim' as a Dai-Yukai could reasonably hope to be - she speaks directly with no disrespect, communicates intelligently and well with an excellent grasp over many languages, and gives her full and proper respect to those who speak to her who those to whom she speaks. Oftentimes, when dealing with smallfolk, she will even go out of her way to squat down and make herself appear less intimidating to those she deals with to help ease any mental burdens they may face in dealing with her otherwise at her full, terrifying height. This alone makes her an extreme oddity amongst her people - who almost never lower themselves to speak to smallfolk on equal footing.   In most all of her dealings, Sigrid behaves as a true and proper warrior who possesses her own notions of honor - though she is also notoriously loud, gluttonous, and a rather infamous drunkard when she so frequently indulges in celebratory feasts or other gatherings.

Hobbies & Pets

Sigrid keeps no pets, but is rather infamous amongst her own people for her(By their standards) incredibly odd and quirky hobbies which range from boatbuilding, blacksmithing, mapmaking, sailing, sculpting, woodcarving, cooking, competitive napping, and countless others - each of which she is said to have heard of and picked up from the countless mercenaries and other outsiders she has dealt with in her centuries of rule over the Sigrid Tribe.

History

A relationship that has endured centuries, Sigrid and Aslauge Daenic first encountered each other shortly after the former led her tribe and clan on an Exodus into the Aslagan Mountains to escape the trials of their ancestral homeland far to the north - as fellow progressive thinkers amongst the Dai-Yukai tribes of the area, the two became fast friends thanks to their shared love of battle, their progressive and radical ideas regarding the future of their species, and more.   Now nearly inseperable, their bond is one of Aslauge Daenic's few genuine friendships that extend beyond mere tools to be used and discarded - a battle-tested bond that has endured centuries despite all manner of calamity that reality has thrown their way; a bond that has endured a shared conquest and near extermination of the dwarves, the formation of a nation of Giants based on those radical ideas they once shared as younger girls, the attack of gods upon them during the Age of Troubles, and more.   Perhaps most importantly of all, their bond has been one of shared humility - the two women, as two of the most incomparably mighty creatures on the entire continent of Corexus, regularly keep each other humble and their egos in check as equals(A rare commodity to beings as strong as they)...even if they tend to bicker and squabble over countless issues, their bond has emerged all the stronger for it as best of friends, in both battle, life, love, and more.

History

Though perhaps a one-sided rivalry, Emperor Yamamoto Moritomo of The Inaran Imperium has long held a single regret in his heart - that he was defeated by Aslauge Daenic and her warband during the Age of Troubles and was subsequently tied and bound beneath Sigrid's feet to be constantly trampled, smashed, and trod upon in a Dai-Yukai cultural punishment known as The Banahogg. This punishment, which lasted for months and potentially even years, ended only when the Emperor's homeland paid a ludicrous ransom to Sigrid and her Queen to free him from her clutches.   Now, Sigrid has all but forgotten the foe she long ago deemed unworthy of her attention while the Emperor yearns to be given the chance to redeem himself in battle one last time before he dies...

History

Though they are like night and day to each other, and Ingrid often teases and bullies the virtuous Sigrid relentlessly, the two are an inseperable duo who have come to truly trust each other after fighting alongside one another for centuries. United by a shared exasperation with the full time job that is keeping an eye on Aslauge Daenic, Ingrid and Sigrid are friends in a way that that Ingrid and Aslauge are not - coworkers who are free to complain to one another about life, current events, and even each other.

Wealth & Financial state

Perhaps one of the wealthiest of all the Tribal Chieftains who rallied to Aslauge Daenic's cause during the invasion of the Dwarven Kingdom a century ago, Sigrid's progressive policies have long filled her tribe's coffers quicker than all others - a level of wealth which has allowed her to hire countless mercenaries and other smallfolk warriors to aid her tribe and her goals. Her wealth, claimed largely in battle and on raids made along their decades-long exodus from their homelands, makes her without question one of the wealthiest Giants to ever live - wealth which she was all too happy to invest into The Kingdom of Aslaga when it was formed to help supplant its ailing treasury, and which the Kingdom supposedly still owes her for.   In addition to this, Sigrid's wealth continued to unabashedly expand even during tumultuous times such as the prior Age of Troubles where she personally plundered hundreds of villages and cities of The Empire of Draconia(A nation which has since collapsed) and ruthlessly stolen its treasures and the valuables of its warriors as her own, which often directy go to making her own tribe's warriors as well-equipped as they can possibly be.   So savvy is Sigrid in the area of seeking wealth, that she largely pioneered a new means of dealing with enemies in battle known in the tongue of the Giants as "Wealth Rivals" - a tactic that often saw Sigrid and her warriors feign incompetence or mercy and allow adventurers, heroes, or any who fell to them in battle to escape so that these creatures, filled with fear and hatred, would return later(Often with better-equipped warriors and more items) only to find that the GIants they had lost to before easily trounced them again, stealing all their belongings only to begin the process all over again; only capturing and enslaving them(And often selling them to other tribes or even other smallfolk lands as slaves for HUGE profits) when they finally began to wise up to their tactics or when they became too strong to easily ignore.   Thanks to this wealth, the Grimr tribe has long stood as one of the most well-equipped and well-funded Dai-Yukai tribes in the entire Aslagan Mountains.
