The Unfettered
In the age After Halflings, major powers have started to rise: Half-elves in the west, Gnomes and tieflings in the east, Dragonborn in the south and Sea Elves from the water in between. These forces demolish lands, strip commoners of their livelihoods, rob the unwilling of their lives or dignity. On the opposite spectrum, monsters riddle the night. Horrors from the wylds or within our own hearts rip towns apart, displace families. ruin decency.
But not the Unfettered and those like hearted.
Born during the downfall of the Elven Empire, a brotherhood formed in Ochita countering the violent tendency of the declining elves. This band was a menagerie of peoples, tribes, creeds, and cultures from all walks of life. Their flag, the anvil and hammer, was once a tapestry gifted by a blacksmith for their first good deed. Best known for their freeing imperial slaves and prisoners, the named 'Unfettered' stuck.
While not the only 'good bandits' in Cabochon, the Unfettered became very well known after the death knell of the old empire. A welcome sight in small hamlets, the group quickly grew and added a signature emerald cube to their necklaces and flags. The Unfettered also practiced a number of bizarre rituals, including claiming their leader was a fallen angel come to save the world. These practices were never heinous and were the preferred to roving warlords and criminals.
