Tiefling
These horned and hooved humanoids are found from almost every bloodline and race. As of late, elven tieflings have become common in a bid for their fertility. A tiefling lineage is created through infernal, abyssal, or other forms of blood pacts. These pacts become physically evident with the eruption of horns, hooves, tails, or exotic skin coloration. Despite these infernal beginnings, tieflings are often misunderstood and persecuted forcing many to less amicable pursuits. Elders of their race bear horrifying scars from the well-known elven crusade against them. First generation ‘newborns’ typically have their horns and tail though some have chosen to remove them to avoid public ire.
Once close allies to the elves, tieflings became a source of conspiracy regarding elven infertility. Driven from the elven capitals to their own capital of Mephistal, tiefling refugees eventually found friends in Du'chan, the gnomish capital. They struck a deal: a safe, fruitful life with the gnomes in exchange for their infernal enchantments on gnomish handiworks. It was an easy sell for both parties and it has been the enmity of most other races fearing the inevitable conquest that would ensue. Elves from every subrace have quietly fled back into the Greylands fearing decline and the impending tiefling retribution.
