Battle of Salisbury
The Battle of Salisbury was a conflict that occurred in 480 between Jutish Saxons of Kent and the armies of Britain in the British county of Salisbury, Logres.
The Saxon warlord Cyning Æsc of Kent attempted to invade Salisbury, and was repelled by the armies of Britain led by High King Aurelius Ambrosius Pendragon, Duke Gorlois of Cornwall and Sir Bellias of the King's Guard.
Earl Roderick of Salisbury fought in the vanguard, alongside Sir Gwyn of Shrewton and other Salisburian knights including Sir Elad of Vagon, Sir Hywel of West Lavington, Sir Amig of Tilshead and Sir Jarren of Burcombe.
High King Aurelius Ambrosius was poisoned by a Saxon spy shortly before the conflict and was killed in the battle, causing a red star to streak across the sky to signify his passing. Duke Ventrius of the Saxon Shore was also killed, as well as Baron Gwylon of Wynchbank. Duke Gorlois took over the British army after the High King's death and defeated the invaders, though Cyning Æsc and half his army escaped.
