Sir Hywel of West Lavington

Sir Hywel ͏͏͏͏

Hywel was the banneret of West Lavington in Salisbury and marshal of Salisbury. He held many other manors that he inherited from his late father. His liege lord was Earl Roderick of Salisbury.   His wife predeceased him and he had one daughter, Molle. Though he resided in West Lavington, he spent most of his time in Sarum, advising the earl.   Sir Gwyn squired under him before being knighted. Hywel replaced Sir Amig of Tilshead as marshal of the county.   He led the army to victory at the Battle of St Albans, and helped kill Cyning Eosa of Deira. Alongside his daughter, he was poisoned at the Feast at St Albans.
