Battle of St Albans
The Battle of St Albans was a conflict that occurred in 495 between the armies of King Uther Pendragon and the Saxon cousins Cyning Octa of Nohaut and Cyning Eosa of Deira.
After the Battle of Lindsey, Cynings Octa and Eosa were captured and taken to the dungeons of the White Tower in Londinium. They were freed by an unknown ally and united with the Centurion King of Malahaut, who allowed them to move through Malahaut freely towards Logres.
King Uther attempted to ally with King Canan of Estregales, King Branvarn of Cardigan, and King Nanteleod of Escavalon for the fight, but the alliance fell apart after King Canan was assassinated and King Nanteleod started a civil war against his son, King Dirac of Estregales.
After capturing Linden Pool, the cynings moved further south towards Londinium and captured the city of St Albans. King Uther, slowly dying from an infected wound from a duel years prior, marched his amassed army to fight the Saxons. A first wave of Logrian knights were killed in an ambush trap, and the army was overwhelmed, losing many more knights and injuring Earl Roderick of Salisbury, Sir Brastias, and Duke Ulfius of the Vale.
Eventually, Cyning Octa and Cyning Eosa were killed by Sir Valerius of Idmiston, Sir Penwyn of Oxenwood, and Asher of Appleton Thorn.
The battle was followed by the Feast at St Albans.
