Cyning Eosa of Deira
Cyning Eosa ͏͏͏͏ (a.k.a. Eosa the Giant)
Eosa was the Ænglic Saxon king of Deira, a Saxon-occupied territory in Cumbria that was formerly part of Malahaut.
As Eosa was born in Britain and his family hails from Jutland, he was a Ængle and not technically a Saxon at all; the term Saxon is used colloquially. He was too large to ride a horse, earning the nickname "Eosa the Giant". He sought to wield Excalibur.
He was the son of Ætheling Horsa and first cousin of Cyning Octa of Nohaut and Cyning Æsc of Kent.
He was captured by Duke Gorlois of Cornwall in 490, but broke free of prison in 493 and allied with The Centurion King of Malahaut.
He was killed by Sir Valerius of Idmiston at the Battle of St Albans in 495.
