Duke Gorlois of Cornwall
Duke Gorlois ͏͏͏͏ (a.k.a. The Tardy Duke)
Gorlois was the duke of the duchy of Cornwall and sheriff of Tintagel. He held many lands in the southern counties of Logres. He was a legate of the Supreme Collegium.
Gorlois was a grizzled veteran of many fights, battles, and wars. He was granted dukedom after being the first lord from Cornwall to support High King Aurelius Ambrosius Pendragon, and defended his duchy from Irish raiders and Cornwall plunderers.
Gorlois was noted for his loyalty to his beautiful wife Duchess Ygraine of Cornwall and his three daughters, as well as his tremendous personal courage. Despite his friendship with High King Aurelius Ambrosius from their time in Brittany, he was not well-liked by King Uther Pendragon.
Gorlois primarily resided at Tintagel Castle and Terrabil Castle in the county of Tintagel.
His coat-of-arms was three red lion heads surrounding a red chevron on a black field.
