Battle of Lindsey

The Battle of Lindsey was a battle in Linden, Logres that occurred in 490 when Saxon cousins Cyning Octa of Nohaut and Cyning Eosa of Deira attempted to invade Logres and take Excalibur from King Uther Pendragon.   Though Cyning Octa had a magical axe, the Saxons wanted to claim a magical weapon for Cyning Eosa as well. They gained reinforcements and hired Frankish mercenaries, and marched south through Malahaut to attack Logres.   King Uther's army met with Duke Corneus of Lindsey and mustered at Linden Pool. Before the battle, Merlin the Magician attempted to frighten the attackers with a vision of a fire-breathing dragon. The battle was hard fought, with King Uther's army on the defensive, and Sir Bernas was killed. Cyning Eosa was captured by Duke Gorlois of Cornwall, and Cyning Octa was captured by Sir Artaire of Idmiston and Sir Gwyn of Oxenwood, causing the remaining army to flee.   The captives were taken to the White Tower in Londinium.
