Red Cockspur Grove
The Red Cockspur Grove is a small forest of trees located on the eastern shore of Red Lake in the Desecrated Hills region of central Tarteria.
The forest is connected the the Sacred Boar origin mythos of the orcish people.
At some point between 21 Madaet and 27 Madaet 5A 352, Mortimr Gwathagoldrin and Kelwin's Magical Toys and Concocted Wonders passed through the Red Cockspur Grove while traveling northwards along the Orc Highway. On 23 Adroth 5A 352, a group of Hero Hunters did logging work in the grove on behalf of Aktrout. They camped in the south side of the forest, and the smoke from their fire was seen by Ilmendwyth, who was camping on Zandandar Hill to the north. On 24 Adroth 5A 352, the Lightbringers passed through the grove while traveling south. They saw signs of recent logging work, and they investigated the area for signs of elemental effects and recent monster activity.
Description
The grove is a small forest on the banks of Red Lake. The trees are large, with dark gray bark that appears to curl around the trunk. The branches are sprawling, creating a thick canopy of broad leaves. The leaves are a darker red color, and when in bloom, the produce bright red, elongated cups. These blossoms produce pools of nectar and legume seed pods.Cultural Importance
The grove is included in the Sacred Boar Orcish Origin Myth centered around Red Lake. The grove is said to have grown from the placenta of the Sacred Boar that gave birth to the orcish people. The forest is the subject of a painting, Where the Red Cockspur Grows, by Uro Grilmara.History

At some point in the late Fourth Age, the Akonon Anakag was constructed from wood sourced from the Red Cockspur Grove. The river barge would eventually become the Aktrout Ark.The Fifth Age: The Age of Beginnings
