Old Anchor Inn
The Old Anchor Inn is a nautical-themed inn and tavern in Aktrout in central Tarteria. The original anchor of the Aktrout Ark is on display here, along with many other anchors accumulated over the years.
Shortly before Avedar 5A 351, Shota took over the Old Anchor Inn, becoming its owner and primary bartender. She and her daughter, Uro, would become common sights around the bar. According to Shota, they moved here because Uro wanted to get in touch with more traditionalist orcish society, which Shota described as a phase she was going through. According to Shota, Oknar Zhangon would frequent the Old Anchor Inn. She said he often would sit alone and glare at nothing in particular during his visits. When Lord Lortuk, son of Mog, came to Aktrout at some point after Avedar 5A 351, he asked Shota about a group of genasi that had visited the town. 5A 352
On 16 Adroth 5A 352, Andras Ashforge and a few other Hands of Ore dwarves from Thoriktown arrived in Aktrout and rented rooms at the Old Anchor Inn. On 26 Adroth 5A 352, the Lightbringers visited the bar and ordered drinks. They spoke with Shota about recent events in the city.
Description
Tavern
The Old Anchor Inn is made of two connected ships that have been modified and expanded with warm-colored woods. The two ships are tied together with ropes, and a built wooden vestibule connects them. They are permanent structures and are surrounded by Aktrout's town docks. The “roof” is made of repurposed red sails that show the warm light of the interior, looking like a warmly glowing red dome. The primary wooden door to the docks has a stained-glass window showing a charcoal-colored anchor on a red background. Painted on the door in orcish is the name “Old Anchor Inn”. Inside is a warm, slightly rocking, orcish tavern. The ship interior has been gutted to make room for a bar and many wooden tables. The interior is warmed and lit by several standing braziers placed on stone disks to catch embers. Just inside the main door is a large and old anchor bolted to the interior deck. It's made of dark metal that is discolored from many years of hands touching its surface. Engraved on it in orcish is the name, Akonon Anakag. All along the interior walls of the tavern are other anchors of different types and ages, which have been accumulated over the years. They serve a variety of drinks, including a somewhat weak fermented maize beer. Occasionally, imported bottles can be found here as well.Inn
The entrance to the second ship where the inn's rooms are is towards the aft of the main ship. A built wooden vestibule connects them, forming a short and enclosed hallway. The rooms are modest. There is a heavy nautical theme. The beds are hanging, padded hammocks with fluffy, if somewhat damp, pillows. Each room is decorated with a ship anchor, and some have rigging or bits of sail as well.Notable People
