Pelleon Anomaly
The dangerous void that has long seperated Galactic powers
The Pelleon Anomaly is a giant nebula that separates the territories of the Kingdom of Apreas, and the Federation of Anfieden and Allied Planets. It is one of the largest such nebulae in the Galaxy of Astraesto.
The area is near universally impassable, with only a few short zones being able to be traversed. This is unlike any other known nebulae, and has led to several theories, conspiracies and myths about the area. Black holes are unusually common in the areas that have been explored, as well as neutrons stars, and all other matter of unusual phenomenon.
The nebula was one of the largest roadblocks to galactical colonisation by The Colony of Man. For many centuries it prevented colonisation to the western parts of the Galaxy. Eventually, the legendary explorer Zann Pelleon would find a route through the nebula, allowing for the establishment of the Republic of Osheni, which was originally intended as a penal colony. This route, while feasible for many travellers, began to experience an unusually large number of disappearances and cases of insanity. This led to the desire for new routes through the nebula with many of the current routes used today were discovered during this period.
In the current Galaxy, the nebula has served as a border between the Federation and the Kingdom of Apreas. Despite the two nations being allies, some conflict has emerged over who the nebula actually belongs to. Trade nevertheless flourishes, with much of it going over the nebula.
