Karissa

Admiral Karissa (a.k.a. Siren of the Sea, Seductress of the Capsized, Liberator of the Orc Mutineers)

A member of the Maelstrom Heroes, Karissa is the captain of the Maelstrom. The half-elf lass was born to the human sailor Angelo Ridact and an elven woman who ran off after Karissa was born. Growing up on the sea, Karissa learned the ropes from her father until he was killed by Boriss troops for being too friendly with pirates. The troops killed many of Angelo's merchant crew and Karissa barely survived the ship being set ablaze. After making it back to land, Karissa only had vengeance in her heart with her father dead. She tracked down the Boriss vessel that changed her life and drugged the whole crew. They woke up in the middle of pirate territory as Karrisa was parlaying with King Aeros Drogunok of the pirates. The angry half-elf set the Boriss ship ablaze after joining Aeros just as the government troops had set her father's ship on fire. Karissa proved popular among the pirates and a favorite of Aeros and his first mate, Drazeeros Lijak. After a few years, Karissa became captain of her own pirate ship. However, the ship crashed and she was stranded on land when she met Czimor and Luther. The three begun to adventure together before being unjustly thrown into a Boriss prison. After escaping and making new friends, they stopped the Cult of Reclamation from usurping control of Boriss and Frasnir. When Luther betrayed them to join the Demon Lord Zoul, the Corruptor, Karissa killed her former friend. Months later, she captained the Maelstrom with her crew and prevented a war between Aeros and the Dawn Alliance. At Drazeeros's request, her crew collected Origin Gems from across Xorik to power a ritual to make Aeros stronger. During that time, she started a rebellion against The Order in Thamar. Karissa also faced off multiple times against a young assassin who claimed to know much about her. Eventually, Drazeeros urgently asked Karissa to fly the Maelstrom back to Dragon Tooth as Aeros was dying and Drazeeros need the Origin Gems to save Aeros. Karissa of course helped but was betrayed again, but this time by Drazeeros, who revealed himself to be a Drazeeros from a different reality. This Drazeeros opened up a rift between realities for a demonic army to swarm in. Karissa and her friends managed to stop the ritual and kill the assassin, Darius, who claimed to be alternate reailty Karissa's son. However, Lord Zoul banished the heroes to the Dark Reality as the rift was closed.

Dark Reality

In the Dark Reality, the heroes failed to stop Luther/Zoul and instead the demon lord corrupted them just as he had corrupted Luther. Lord Zoul made Karissa his dark queen and together they had a son named Darius, Prince of Demons. From Light Reality's Karissa's nightmares, the Dark Reality Karissa is a captain of a fleet of demonic flying airships.
