Dark Reality

An alternate reality, in the Dark Reality, the Party failed to stop Luther from becoming possessed by Demon Lord Zoul, the Corruptor. The released demon lord corrupted the heroes and with their help, raised an army to conquer the world.
Several decades later, he sent his son, Darius and dark Drazeeros, to the Light Reality to conduct a powerful ritual to open a rift between the two realities. With the help of Zoul's loyal servant, Kabar, the three manipulated events to open the rift between the worlds and Lord Zoul's flying army entered.
The Party is currently in the Dark Reality's version of Dragon Tooth after being sent through the closing rift by Zoul.

History:

In this reality, Marish won The Great War by developing devastating magical weapons that could destroy a city. They used their new weapon on Eastford of Thamar and the destruction quickly pushed the other kingdoms to surrender. Marish set up a continent wide empire ruled by their powerful mages. However, strange phenomenon begun occurring in Marish from people disappearing to strange creatures appearing out of no where.
At the same time, the Cult of Reclamation released Zoul to give them power against the overbearing Marishians. Luther and his friends failed to stop the demon lord's release and Luther became host to the dark entity. Under the guise of Luther, Zoul led a rebellion against Marish. Summoning demons to his side, Zoul's army became twisted and ruthless. The newly formed Marishian empire could barely hold their own, but then tragedy struck. Their capital city of Juta was torn asunder in a magical vortex that soon spread a magical storm all around the former city. Without leadership, the remaining Marishians fell before Zoul's dark army.
However, some people begun realizing Luther's true nature and formed a Resistance against the demon lord. The Resistance only delayed the inevitable as Zoul's forces were already too large. After two decades, Xorik became a wasteland of broken cities.

Places or People of Interest:

• The Resistance: led by Cyrus "Commander", the Resistance is the last bastion of mortals that fight against Zoul's demonic forces. They reside in the ruins of Strakelgar.
• The Abomination: an impossibly large draconic creature that makes its home in the ruins of Riverhold.
• Alga: an old woman and merchant who sells rare magical items for treasure or information. She appears where ever there is demand for her wares and seems to know much about this reality
• Ezekiel: a fallen celestial that serves Zoul, Ezekiel's forces did not make it through the rift before it closed. It is likely he will lead them back to Sol, which became the base for Zoul in this reality.
• Lich Dario: after a powerful ritual went wrong, Valeryos was destroyed and Dario was transformed into a dreadful undead lich. Now he rules over the remains of the elven city with a court of spirits of those that died during the magical explosion.
• Darkness in the Far East: there is something more dangerous than Zoul itself some say in the far east of Xorik. Alga referred to it as an entity called the World Eater, Annihilator of Worlds.
• Vortex: where Juta, capital of Marish, and the surround area once stood is a giant magical storm with a vortex in the center of it.
