The Great War

In the continent of Xorik, as the Just King Arakiss dies, he asks Boric, his youngest son, to take the throne over his other two children: the eldest son, Thamos, and daughter, Marisha. Before Boric could become king, his two siblings opposed his ascension. Thamos gathered an army to make himself king as the crown belonged to him by birthright as the eldest son. Marisha gathered her own army as she found Thamos too weak willed to be king, but Boric also too young. Reluctantly, Boric assembled those loyal to him, and the three siblings' forces begun battle in what would become later known as the Great War.
For the next 96 years, the continent was thrown into chaos as the split forces of the former Balorn Kingdom fought. Thamos established the kingdom of Thamar to the north. Boric and the crown loyalists held the Balorn capital of Sol and named their nation Boriss. Marisha claimed the west and named her kingdom Marish.
The war between the three human kingdoms eventually brought in other races as well. In 715 YB, Marish created sentient constructs called Warforged to bolster their armies as tireless soldiers. Boriss and Thamar were quick to start creating their own warforged as well. The gnomes of Frasnir made an alliance with Boriss to help supply the human kingdom with resources, especially the famous gnome magi-tech. Near the end of the war, the elves of Valeryos and dwarves of Strakelgar felt threatened by the ongoing war and joined forces to fight back against the human caused destruction.
However, everything changed when in 745 YB, a mysterious explosion known as the Cataclysm destroyed much of Marish. The terrifying and mysterious explosion turned all nations on their heels. No one knew who, what, or why most of Marish was suddenly destroyed, but everyone was terrified their kingdom was next. Shaken by fear, the leaders of Boriss, Thamar, Frasnir, elves, and dwarves came together in 746 YB to sign the Dawn Treaty. The Great War was officially over, for now...
