Astoria
Once an empty world first discovered by fiends ages ago,
Astoria has seen many rulers from fiendish kings to gods to dragon overlords. Throughout ages of grand conflict the original continent was split asunder into several different lands. Ages later, life goes on as mortals have claimed dominion of the lands.
On the continent of
Xorik, the nations just exited the
Great War, which was a near century long war between the human kingdoms over the succession of the once
Balorn Kingdom. After the mysterious
Cataclysm destroyed the kingdom of
Marish, the nations of humans, gnomes, dwarves, and elves came together to peacefully end the war. With the signing of the Dawn Treaty, the continent has begun to recover. However, not all is well as ancient evils lurk and shadowy individuals seek to abuse the cold war tensions to their own gain.
Xorik specifically is inspired by classic D&D fantasy settings such as Forgotten Realms and Eberron. As a kid, I loved Eberron, but I missed the classic D&D lore it abandoned. So I decided why not make my own world where I mash those concepts together and that's how Xorik was born. I have plans for the rest of the world (Astoria), but my players haven't discovered the other continents yet.
