Xorik Player's Guide

For new players that will be playing in the continent of Xorik. I created this Wiki to help you, the player, make characters that fit the setting. Creating a character with ties to the established world lets you invest more in the campaign. It also gives the DM creative ways to interact with your character. When the DM and players work together to create characters that interact with the world, everyone wins.   I recommend checking out the Xorik page as it has a brief overview of the continent with helpful links.

Character Creation

When creating a character from Xorik, try to reflect on a few questions and how they affect your character:
  • You were affected by The Great War. How?
  • What kingdom are you from and does it hold your loyalty? Why?
  • How do you feel about the Cataclysm and were you affected by it?

New Classes and Modifications

If there is a homebrew class/subclass you found and like, we can take a look together and see if it will work (aka is it balanced?). We can also reflavor an existing class/subclass to fit your character concept better.
  • Artificer: magical tinkers that specialize in arcane inventions. The class can be found here
  • Blood Hunters: zealous hunters of the supernatural, Blood Hunters tap into dark blood magic to hunt their foes. The class can be found here
  • Magus: popular during The Great War, Magus choose to blend swordplay with magic in a deadly combination. The class can be found here
  • Ranger: You can use the Revised Ranger in place of the Player's Handbook Ranger. You can also prepare spells similar to how a Paladin prepares spells every day. You can prepare a number of spells equal to half your Ranger level plus your Wisdom modifier.
