Created nearly fifty years ago by
Marishian arcanists during the
Great War, the warforged were built to be the ultimate soldiers. The mass production of these sentient constructs pushed the war in Marish’s favor, until
Thamar and
Boriss stole the schematics and started their own production. With the Dawn Treaty, warforged were granted their freedom. However, now warforged are without their original purpose. They are soldiers that have known nothing but war, but war has ended. Warforged now try their best to emulate their old lives by joining mercenary companies or city guards. Some warforged have fallen prey to indentured servitude contracts that employ them as laborers working tirelessly to rebuild the human kingdoms.
The other races mostly negatively view warforged as either terrifying reminders of the war or strange creations incapable of emotion. In particular, most citizens of Thamar are distrustful and hateful of warforged as they see the sentient constructs as arcane abominations. This mistrust from their creators and others have pushed some warforged to leave their old lives behind and become adventurers seeking battle and glory. However, there are rumors of warforged beginning to flock to a
mysterious leader claiming to build a kingdom for warforged within the Wastelands.
- Names: Most warforged have numerical names during the Great War. Since their liberation, many have tried discovering new names for themselves and some warforged view finding their name as a personal quest.
- Religion: Some warforged do not follow the concept of religion while others have found religion as their new life purpose. Common gods include Bahamut, Moradin, Erathis, and Zaraku. Some warforged that have even begun to worship the mysterious leader of warforged in the Wastelands called the Iron Lord.
- Age: Warforged were first produced nearly fifty years ago, but very few remain of the original production due to the Great War. Most warforged are either a few years old or a decade or two at the most. No one knows how long warforged can live.
