Xhubod Ethnicity in Ardre | World Anvil

Xhubod

Nomadic warrior people, the Xhubod live along the Ghazhou River in western Viis Zoroth. The River has been shrinking over the centuries, forcing the Xhubod to shorten their travels and consequently spend more time near and occasionally among the Arisir of the Arisad Wetlands, where the Ghazhou empties into the Darida Sea.   The Xhubod claim heritage from two gods, Iaz and Garleth, who slew their mother Yish Nov and built the world out of her remains. Some myths call Iza and Garleth sisters who made the Xhubod with their magic, while others call them wife and husband who bore the Xhubod after defeating their mother. Xhubodi myth is rife with tales of great wars and terrible dynastic shifts, but nowadays they are a homogenous people with few serious conflicts.   Despite the recent peace, the Xhubod are still a warrior people, raising their daughters to fight as their sons herd cattle and raise the children. Virtually every aspect of their lives is framed as a battle or conflict of some kind that must be won.
