Corrik Bastion - 5th Known Ruler of Revellia

Called the Coward

King Corrik Bastion

Reign: 698 RA - 701 RA
Wizards: Brinid Younger   Corrik's father Dorre was a fearsome and warlike king, yet he ignored the politics of the realm. As he rode about putting down minor rebellions, the clans of Ainros and Graunt were gathering allies and growing strong.   The very moon that Corrik took the crown, Ainros and Graunt rebelled. They started small, raiding out-of-the-way villages and intercepting baggage trains, but Corrik failed to act swiftly against them. The rebels controlled Saolmoth before the year was out, effectively cutting off the crown from most of their allies and resources. By the Summer of 676 RA, Aerwoth was under siege.   Aerwoth was a port, and the rebels controlled no ships of their own, so the siege dragged on for nearly two years with no result. Yet all the while Clan Bastion grew weaker, and Clan Ainros was sending its spellers and Breyvs to treat with the other chiefs of Revellia, gaining allies and showing the ability to rule.   In 678 RA, King Corrik arranged for his family and he to flee into Ethel to the north. How they ended is not known. Many suggest they fled into Bastis, which is currently ruled by a clan named Bastian. These Bastis Bastians vehemently deny any such connection, of course. Because of his flight and disappearance, Corrik is forever known as the Coward.   So ended the once illustrious Clan Bastion.
