My birthplace? SCV-53-IMDP "Harvester's Luck", built many, many centuries ago, but still chugging along. Rather big one, too, being built to serve as a colony transport to Moon, Mars and Asteroid Belt, before getting converted to a mobile hab.
Yeah… good times, albeit with some crazy high expectations from my family. Apparently, my gene-stock goes back to one of the more notable figures of my species and, due to that, I was expected to do something special.
Well… given my current situation, I wonder, if I've accidentally proved them right, while trying to run away to prove them wrong.
Yeah, you heard that right. Me volunteering for the test flight of IXS-007 was because I was trying to put as much distance between myself and them as possible. Likewise with the implant.
And… well, can't say I'm disappointed with the results. Yeah, the perspectives of my return aren't terribly bright, but… I'd say I've got kinda used to it, as I always did over my time back home in Sol. Besides, I don't think I can leave Derala behind. Or leave Seclusion Heights as they're now, in any case. Not until I see the once-small and wrecked settlement turn into a beautiful powerhouse, sufficient to sustain itself without my help.
Accomplishments
Shortly after arriving in Palaxian space, shi made landfall on Munazra, and after some translator shenanigans, started making friends with the locals. A couple weeks after helping out initially, shi started the ambitious project of fabricating a powerplant for the shattered town of Seclusion Heights. With the help of Derala Keldral, a local shi befriended, the material was sourced from the scrap piles surrounding the town.After the reactor was built and initialized, hir XO, Esui, was tasked with orbiting the world, sifting through the debris and tagging some of the largest hunks to be used for a barrage on the bandit camps. In the early hours of the morning, the sky was lit up by streaks of fire soaring down from the heavens and rumbling the earth.

Installing or swapping out a technological item attached to the upgrade requires 10 minutes, as though you were swapping out an armor upgrade. Whenever at least one of your hands is free, you can use the item as though it were in your hand. If the item normally requires two hands to use, you still need two free hands to use it.

There are three barrels on the weapon, two chambered for standard shotgun shells, one that's rifled for either standard issue small arm rounds, and flare casings alike. The length of the weapon holds a blade, that can be used as a machete in the wild.
Laser Multitool i. lvl: 1; price: -; bulk: L; damage: 1d4 F; range: 80 ft; critical: burn 1d4; capacity: 40 charges; usage: 1; special: -; Wildly different from conventional styles of laser weapons, this 'tool' has a distinct shape that sets it apart. Apparently, the multitool has a multitude of modes and functions.
Modes for the laser pistol:
- SAFE (nothing is online)
- -RANGE (laser on very low power, only works as a laser sight and a rangefinder)
- -WELD (welder mode)
- -CUT (cutter mode, similar to the STRIKE combat mode)
- -AUX (powers up attached auxiliary devices, such as laser scalpel with fiber-optic attachment, power can be regulated)
- -DAZZLE (low-power, only serves to induce discomfort by flashing laser, won't blind permanently)
- -BLIND (higher-power, may blind permanently)
- -SHOCK (works as an electrolaser, delivers electrical charge by using two auxiliary emitters to ionize air and use the ionized channels as conductors. Requires auxiliary equipment)
- -STRIKE (actual combat mode, will give very nasty wounds by using pulsed laser strikes, which can quickly penetrate the non-reflective armor and, basically, explode flesh up to 30cm deep, before this 1mm-wide tunnel collapses) Difference between WELD, CUT and STRIKE is in how beam is focused For WELD and CUT, it's focused at a short distance from the optic train For STRIKE, it can be refocused to a longer range and uses pulsed mode; in addition, this mode also analyzes the emission lines from the flashes on enemy armor and adapts pulses to ensure most optimal penetration, although it can be confused by a multi-layer armor or hitting in different places, consisting of different materials. You can force it to use a single set, however. CUT also uses pulsed mode, whereas WELD keeps the constant, slightly-unfocused beam to heat things up, but not too much
Expanding Slugs(10) i. lvl: 1; price: ; bulk: L; Instead of the standard pellet ammunition, the shell contains a solid slug. This increases the damage by +1 per dice, as well as increases the knockdown DC +2. Finally when used for breaching or other similar effects, the weapon is considered to be 5 levels higher.
Buckshot Slug(10) i. lvl: 1; price: 55; bulk: L; These cartridges are packed with small metal spheres that scatter when the cartridge explodes.
Signal Flare(10) i. lvl: 1; price: 5; bulk: -; Usually made of magnesium, flares burn brightly and can deliver some heat. You can ignite a flare by hand without the need for a flare gun. A lit flare burns for 1 hour, and it can be wielded in melee combat as an improvised weapon that deals 1d2 fire damage.
