Mosaic District

The Mosaic District

The Mosaic District, called thus due to its large influx of people from other continents who choose to settle down in this region, is the port district of Dianmallo. It is run by Fjord Hammelstark, a wealthy guild member who has a tight grip on the trade here in the Mosaics. You can find many wonderous treasures here from exotic lands. Most of the imports and exports of Dianmallo go through the Mosaic District.

2a Fjord Hammelstark's Mighty Barge

This is the home of Fjord Hammelstark. Once a legendary and successful sailor/entrepeneur (some desputably claim "pirate"), Fjord Hammelstark was able to bring his name and status to bear in the city of Dianmallo, easily making his way up through the ranks, and eventually purcashing the former High Lords' land, turning into his mansion - a giant ship.
This district also oversees any passageway into the Mosaic District from the East. The Wharf Wardens oversee this the Southways Bridge, which is often a dispute with Emât's Watch in the Arcane District.

2b The Mosaic Wharf

The Mosaic Wharf is a beautiful place, despite the smell that often comes up from the ocean. A day never goes by that is not busy - even during the solomn week of Solace there are bound to be a few dozen workers making their rounds and bringing in ships who travel far journeys to get here. The most notable location in the Mosaic Wharf is the Global Bazaar, the hotspot for exotic goods and materials.

2c The Galls

As some don't have the means to make it all the way to the Smears', many who come into Dianmallo poor often end up in the Galls. The ocean here is blocked off by the large wall to avoid any people smuggling (it still happens), but the district itself is a very impoverished and diverse place.

2d The Gala of Arts District

The Gala of Arts District is named for the Lorehold Amphitheater, which is a wonderful place to attend and learn more about the arts and history of Dianmallo. Additionally, the Gala of Arts District hosts the Grand Temple of Ulmo, where sailers flock to find good fortune and prayers to their patron of the sea before embarking on far travel.

2e The Gails

In sharp contrast to the Galls, the Gails are home to the sailors or merchants who make a fine living in the Mosaic District. As it borders the Kings' Island, it is a popular place for merchants who want to cozy up to the higher nobility.

2f The Reefs

Affluent place that hosts a larger group of residents. The main draw to this place is that it functions as a central hub between the Mosaic District and the rest of Dianmallo, due its Transportation Hub. The Hub interconnects all transportation along the Dian, which enables speedy transportation across the city.
