The Grove District
The Grove District has been around since the inception of Dianmallo. The inhabitants claim that Yavanna herself planted a sapling of the world tree into the city to mark its grand potential.
Those who live in the Grove live in the sprawling tree growth that overtakes the area. Choosing to use this to their advantage, they have created several tree structures in the growth. The only way up into their residences is by invitation - any other way will spell certain doom.
Since time immemorial, the district has been protected by the King, though managed by the Druid clans that have made this place their home. In this sense, the Grove is one of the most autonomous places in the entire city, reflecting its wild nature.
There are indeed beasts and wild creatures that dwell in the Grove, but hunting them is forbidden, except by permission by the Druid clans. Such permissions are rare, extremely expensive, and highly sought after.
Additionally, the extremely rare craft of wood smithing (only a few places in the world offer such trades) is practiced in this district, where wood smiths are able to create objects out of sturdy wood that carry the density and efficiency of metal, yet with the lightweight of wood. Such tools are rare, and thus have added a large export value to Dianmallo. Sometimes these wood products may make their way into the Markets of Marvels bazaars as well, fetching high demand from those who can afford to buy them.
In recent times, following the death of the King, there has been concern about who will govern the Grove, but most simply believe that the druid clans will be capable of keeping unwanted intruders away, as they always have done before.
Industry & Trade
Wood smithing products can only be made here and they fetch a lucrative value in the export business of Dianmallan trade and commerce.
Climate
Sometimes against the weather of Dianmallo, the Grove district keeps a climate similar to the jungle, with semi-regular rainfall and sunlight.
