Creation Myth of Akun

Creation Myth of Akun   Long ago before the lands of Akun had formed, there was the primordial shadow. Above it were the stars and the homes of the various Gods & their offspring. For this realm, only one pantheon is of importance.
Ojun, was a growing godling with the desire to ascend to full godhood. With creeping steps, he pranced towards the home of Dhualdir with eyes filled with the glory only found within the Tournaments Heptagon Arena. The Keeper of Secrets had approached Dhualdir with leading the Godlings after they had won their tournament to rule the realm that became Akun against other pantheons. Of the contestants on their team, Ojun knew what they had needed to strategize and what weaknesses to expose of the other pantheons; but Ojun himself knew that he was not the one to lead the gods out in the world. He would rather stay behind the scenes to do as he pleased or at least avoid being gazed upon.
Dhualdir beamed his chin high as he stepped forward to lead the seven. Casting himself standing into the middle of the others; he gazed upon them each. Through wanton laze while basking on a stone perch under cosmic rays, Buren could influence a crowd to follow their charming smile and ethereal whispers. Imera, decisive as she is, decided how they should appear as a team and beguiled the would-be spies prior to the tournament into a diamond labyrinth. Quaanam, perhaps the oldest & determined to claim glory, was the shield and spear that the Godlings turned too when the stars dimmed or when a Godling needed to have an alibi for being too childish to their parent Gods. Aznera could burst with energy as her gales and tempest could make full Gods seek cover in the brightest of days if she was angry. Finally young Ginnir, though inexperienced, was eye-raising when they graced the room and was a natural soother of souls.
The Tournament was used to gather the materials necessary to craft the realm we stand on now. The arena housed an ivory inlaid marble Heptagon with a pit surrounding it on all sides. Each match of the tournament was more brutal than the last. And so, the seven Godlings agreed and entered not knowing in full their own fates. Though Lotyx had not originally been a part of their team, he joined at the end of the first round as the Outsider and only fellow Godling that Quaanam was matched with in strength & compassion. A rule of the tournament is said that the last opposing Godling may be taken by the victors to continue their ascension. Within the second round, the now eight Godlings swept their competition viciously and refused another team mate.
Prior to the final round, a night of festivals dazzled the stars themselves for the remaining two teams. Tears, words, love, and more were exchanged between not only the contending Godlings but to their families. Regardless of winning, neither team would get to see their families again before being casted down to start the creation of their own new realm.
The midday underneath the sun seared sweat from each contestant with cruel taxing. Rumbling chants & cacophonous horns filled the air. So underwent the greatest battle the Godlings have had. Only one thing is remembered and that is this. Earning his moment in the final round of the Ascension Tourney, as Ginnir was laid low from a cruel enemy’s blow Dhualdir strode forward and seared life from the unfortunate detractor. The Heptagon was silent before thunderous applause filled the stars as the new pantheon stood victorious before all. From the victory parties of the night before, Dhualdir piloted his first bureaucracy for the gods and what was needed to operate the country to be Akun. Eagerly, he grabbed the crown of the Celestial Sovereign as his career began.
Gaining their ascension, the newfound pantheon settled onto the realm of theirs and chose to name it. Akun. A strong name for that land accounting for the history of its future people and the stories in honor of its Gods. The first of the gods to want servants was Buren, the Beacon of Empyrean Paradise. A selfish lazy personality that would love to shirk responsibilities in favor of; drinking ambrosia aged golden with the richest tart grapes possible by a small waterfall feeding the lake below it. Buren first brought the idea to Ginnir and Lotyx, and oddly found an agreement from each. Presenting their idea to the remaining members of the Pantheon, each god individually and slowly raised their hands in favor of creating mortals. The floor fell to Ojun to craft the first living mortals to serve. Ojun tasked the gods to combine their efforts to create mortals that would worship and obey them. Each of the divine aiding with their own abilities, element, and school of magic to make one of the greatest and most adaptive servants for gods they could.
Ojun helped the pantheon create mindless followers just as he was asked. Mortal bodies with mindless souls that would act as instructed. The pantheon rejoiced at the creations and spun flowing streamers across the skies. Amongst the distracted party goers, Ojun found that he wanted more for himself. He thought that, “There wasn’t anything artistic, secretive, or innovative with these mortals. They’re boring.” He would be forced to experience only what the other seven Gods could create. Ojun gave the creations, now called “sentient mortals,” free will so that he would be entertained and a chance to be surprised. After stealing away a decent chunk of persons with free will, Ojun whisked them away urgently to Quaanam. Of the other Gods, Quaanam alone was recognized as one that ensured the well being of their creations against noticeable threats.
On the second and third nights of Ojun’s Betrayal, Quaanam had found in his abode the start of civilization. These were not ones he necessarily knew but they needed his protection not just from the monsters on the lands of the realm below but from being destroyed by the Gods that wanted automata as worshippers. Slowly, he taught them language. Due to the influences of the others, some mortals caught onto Celestial easily while others innately spoke with other languages. Some of the learning mortals started taking parts and pieces and creating smaller dialects. When the others heard of Ojun’s deceit, Quaanam summoned a large storm across the lands of Akun to hide the mortals from the Gods’ eyes and gave them time to grow. When the storm clouds had finally parted, what had been a paltry few grains of time for the gods had been a significant turning of the clock for the residents of Akun. The history of their prized realms the Gods sought to witness had started while they were not even aware.
However, other mortals remained wary of the gods’ intentions. They saw how the gods would squabble over their own prestige and power, and feared that they might turn against the mortals once they had served their purpose. They began to seek ways to protect themselves, forming alliances and building alliances with other clans. They also delved into magic and ancient lore, hoping to find ways to counter the gods’ influence and even ascend to their level.
Thus, the mortals of Akun entered into a new era of their history, one defined by their own agency and aspirations. They had emerged from the shadows of their creators and forged their own path, both embracing and defying the divine forces that had shaped their world. And in their struggle for independence and meaning, they would create tales and legends that would resonate for generations to come.
